One of the issue with obesity in Pashtun, Baloch and Asian/African societies is the excessive eating habit of bread which is the main source of carbohydrates. Then they take lot of tea or coffee with sugar which entail into diabetes and other medical problems.
I suggest that we may seriously talk of this issue to discourage the over eating of naan, bread and other forms of food with carbohydrates and fats.

what other alternative do you have? bread and rice is the main food. the due to the powerty the people can bare afford anything else. you must be living on another planet by saying the pashtun and baloch are obese.

Yes you are right. Because of poverty Pashtuns and other poor nations are compelled to eat food full of carbohydrates and fats. Food with Proteins, minerals and vitamins are generally costly but this is not always the case.
You can have food with proteins like beans, pulses and salads, green leaves for vitamins and minerals on cheaper rates. Even chicken is not that costly in rural areas.
Problem is education and food habits. People think that with dish of chicken you must eat2 or more breads. No this is not necessary. You can have chickken with less quantity of bread or no bread at all. Not eating with spoons and knives or forks also result in over eating as you have to sue bread with every dish.
Bread is not your spoon. You can eat chicken or pulses directly with a spoon or fork. And then a morsel of bread if yiou like it.
I do not always use bread with my dishes. My tea is always without sugar. this helps me a lot to keep my self smart and with no bulging belly.
