reminds me of the time i went to panjshir in 2010 for a picnic. my cousin and i were picking on a few from some random tree, the owner came with a large sheat, had us hold on to each corner and shook the tree until it was half full. then he put them all in a bucket and gave it to us to take home. we destributed to everyone in kabul and there was still enough to munch on three days later. afghans in afghanistan make you proud of being an afghan.

Don't remind me....
It is my favourite fruit. back home all the places are full of this tree, last summer we collected so many of 4 varieties of it(white very sweet, pink very sweet, black very aromatic sweet-sour and red sour)......
We make a sweet where the juice concentrate of the black tut is mixed with pistacchio flour and used as filling for biscuitsԱ՜խ, ընկել եմ քար ու քարափ,

Intresting dear DZJ, we eat it too with tea, but nside the biscuit(actually it is not really a biscuit, its is a kind of rolled pastry, you put tut/pistaccio on one side and roll the pastry together(pastry is made of flour, butter and yoghurt). it is than backed for 15 minutes - there are 4 kind of fillings usually:
-pistaccio with mulberry concentrate
-walnut with honey
-almond with plum concentrate
-sesame with sweet condensed milkԱ՜խ, ընկել եմ քար ու քարափ,

Right ---Tjanaparh, it grows a lot in our area but isn't a very popular fruit there---Apple, oranges, etc. used to be the dominant fruits in our area and there used to be a lot of apple farms there ---but recently, peach farms have become popular---Originally posted by Tjanaparh View PostBut it doen't grow in Armenia!
Orange is still a popular fruit though ---and the oranges produced in our area are really very juicy and tasty---
