Okay here is one I made recently. Dukes, I think I was being you with the whole photo story part. They're Strawberry and Cream Puffs. You know, you can totally avoid the whole cream thing, just make the puffs, buy a spray whipped cream bottle and you're done. Walah! What an easy ghecipee. Oh and one more thing, I changed the shape into butterflies, that is not how it is described below though. Getting to the point ...

    Preparation time: 25 minutes
    Cooking time: 10 minutes

    What you need:
    2 eggs
    1/3 cup (75g) caster sugar
    2 tbsp cornflour
    2 tbsp plain flour
    2 tbsp self-raising flour
    2/3 cup (160ml) thickened cream
1/3 cup (55g) icing sugar mixture
    250g strawberries, diced

(In my recipe, I had no strawberries (it was a midnight sweet tooth urge), so I used mixed berries instead which added to the colour of the cream. I used blackberries, raspberries and red currants).

    Method:

    (1) Preheat the oven to moderate (180 C). Grease and flour two 12-hole shallow patty pans.

    (2) Beat eggs in small bowl with electric mixer until thick and creamy. Gradually add caster sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, beating until sugar dissolves between additions. Sift flours together three times onto baking paper; fold into egg mixture.

    (3) Divide mixture among prepared pans. Bake, uncovered, in moderate oven about 8 minutes Turn immediately onto wire rack to cool.

    (4) Beat cream and half of the icing sugar in small bowl with electric mixture until soft peaks form; fold in strawberries. Divide cream mixture among half of the sponges; top with remaining sponges. Serve powder puffs dusted with remaining icing sugar.

    Makes 12

MFD and Darkwitch, you might want to add some sort of essense to the puff mixture. I remember it was a bit eggie. Vanilla Essense should so it.

James, Kandahary is superb at doing that, I don't want him trying so hard because he feels I am a (natural) competitor

This had me laughing, no really! But what will you men do with them anyway? You going to try them out? ... hand them over to the wives, sisters and mothers of course ... I will I will InshaAllah. I did this one a while ago though, and now look, I've set an impression like I am over the pot every minute of the day, minding the stove, vacuum in one hand, diaper change in the other ... not quite yet.

Admin Khan: Please change the name of this thread
