We made samanak here in london..and had a massive samanak party.

Nawroz itself doesnt have any islamic origin..but I love all the food and party associated with it.

btw that HAFT MEWA loooks delicious!
By blood, we are immersed in love of you.
The youth lose their heads for your sake.
I come to you and my heart finds rest.
Away from you, grief clings to my heart like a snake.
I forget the throne of Delhi
when I remember the mountain tops of my Afghan land.
If I must choose between the world and you,
I shall not hesitate to claim your barren deserts as my own.

Nowruz came from Zoroastrianism, it's like when i recall Muslims from Bosnia and Albania celebrating christmas, the holiday of their "past" religion.......

My sister and Mom attended a samanak here in canada and they said how boring and tiring it was. I heard Aryana Sayeed was there.

why do you promote foreign culture here? we are not Pharaosians and never celebrated this sh** newroz or nawa kal. some wannabe pharaosians try to defame Pashtoon culture by promoting fayism here. When in history Pashtoons celebeated that sh**?? never. It's a war against Pashtun identity by Gayranian slaves creating problems for Pashtoons. We are not Farsiwans or Hazaras. Prior 2007 no Pashtoon knew what that sh** is. Even our leaders and kings in Kabul rejected it Enemies of Pashtoon nation are in a new war on media against us to create ID crisis for us . Everyone who celebrate that Pharaosian culture is a slave and an enemy of us. No one in Kandahar or in other Pashtoon provinces celebrated this haram!!! so stop it

I don't meant to argue with you, but you are wrong, and have probably never visited the Loy Kandahar region if you think no one celebrates Nowruz. On Nowruz, most stores are closed, and everybody tries to celebrate and have as much fun as possible. Popular destinations are Arghandab, Baba Sahab, Grishk Ada, etc.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Such a retarded way of thinking..even if it has nothing to do with pashtun culture, whats wrong with knowing about the culture of other people who happen to share the same country as you.

its like someone has a gun over his neck and has him forced to celebrate something against his will. we will celebrate whatever we want, whether you like it or not.
