Tutorial: how to make weshala (easy tribal paratha)
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
I think the weshala there is not very masterly made/cooked. I will find some video clip. The advantage of weshala is it can be quickly made compared to parata.
Ghhhr I cannot make these I tried twice in my life and failed lol because they come out uncooked inside and kinda thick
My mom is good at this cuz for a long time we ate these but switched to regular bread naan like cuz it's easier to make for diabetics with whole wheat and less salt
We often make it at home. its tasty but its shape in the picture in not round loool and is not properly baked. So next time its colour should be like a carrot well baked.

Only practice makes it perfect.. In the beginning all of mine will come so bad but now finally i can make them. They taste very good.

Yeah the ones we make the color and shape comes out really good.
They are impossible to find anywhere in the West, I think ? I have never found a single attempt at one. Maybe listed on an Indian restaurant menu, but usually those offer only various types of nan.
I miss those ! I wish I could learn to cook them. Or have a local bakery start up for them !!
I also like barbari, the Iranian bread.
Any cooks out there for either one ?!!
