I hated them at first, when i lived in saudi arabia i never got to taste any because there were no bagels in Saudi arabia at all. When i came to Canada every body loved them here. Now being in Canada for 10 years, i like them too
they are healthier than doughnuts and very delicious if you have the patience to put the spread on before eating.
true, actually i like them now because there are so many types now, 10 years ago when i came there were only 2 types, i still dont like the plain ones that much, unless they have butter or cheese on them
I can never eat a whole bagel, it gets too much for me. I hardly ever eat breakfast, but when i do its like half of one-sided bagel with peaches and cream spread. Its easy to eat it while driving
In saudi arabia they dont have bagels, but they have a very similar bread, that was very delicious. I forgot the name, it is also (round) and we use to eat it with fresh yogurt, especially during Ramadans.

Bagels are a good breakfast roll and they are nice lightly toasted. The bread that you referring to is called Ka'ak and it's excatly the same as Bagels. This is a Jewish bread, not Arab and traditional Arab breads, tend to be flat Pita/Naan style breads.
never liked bagels.
the baked dough is typical western soft spongy variety of bread, lump of starchy food which doesn't help our system. and since I found out it has polish jewish connections, I dislike bagels even more.
