I have heard one time that the crowns of the kings were looked up from the pomegranate.
Do not know if it is right, but looks similar.
Ors is red to dear Emkhan, this one I have seen once in Italy, but the photo isn't mine.
Why is it diseased in Swat? Do you have high humidity?
Generally the pomegranat likes it dry and very sunny, if there is no Sun it doesn't make many flowers and the fruit doesn't tase so sweet.

Dear, swat is a green area, the soil is wet. I think pomegranate needs dry and stony soil. Swat is famous for peaches, apples, plums, apricot, nuts, pears, rice, and so many many other fruits, vegetables and crops.

Yes it can make only small fruit, here we make decorations of the dried fruit of it.
In one Afghan shop in europe I have seen the same dried small pomgranates, but they were selling them like a spice(interesting what they make of it?).
We have only dried seeds with wlesh used in the kitchen, but never the whole fruit.

In our countries, the seed of the pomegranate is dried and then it is put in the daily meal as a spice... this dried fruit is also used for many other purposes even as a medicine... It is called anardaana i think.

yes though amlook is a dried soil fruit and rice is a watery soil crop... Dear our soil is mashallah very rich... We have all types of crops, like maize, wheat, rice, all vegetables, all fruits except mangoes, guava, bananas, ... there is no sugar cane grown in swat because swat is cold.
there are many many things, i can't explain them in just one post. I like to visit the european countries and I will inshallah if i got an opportunity.

Dear Da Zahro Jaam, i would say it is more about cultivation than food! If You start to grow something, may it be a food lant or a flower, it takes you - is life is fascinating, trough this care you can express the care of Your homeland. Also it is interesting to compare agricultural uses in every country. You should't see it as a love of eating much.
