Tea if I need to relax.
Coffee if I have to drive.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

What is that?Originally posted by Amir al Ghaznavi View PostMed coffee triple triple
I myself am a sheen chai in the evenings/black coffee in the am type of guy...
Perhaps the Amir can comment for me on the following:
My current supervising physician, a female, gets the same starbucks drink every morning: a mocha latte with salt in it.
Now a part of me wants to explore this drink. Salt? in coffee? Yet her explanation is that the chocolate interacts with the salt to be unique.
But, would drinking a mocha latte with salt (it appears to be a predominantly female accessed drink) classify a guy towards metrosexual territory or towards being effeminate?"2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

I have a suggestion for those wishing to reduce or
eliminate Coffee.
Coffee is FULL of horrible stuff.
Even Organic coffees are questionable in my opinion.
There's something in the substance of the coffee bean
which is hostile to human functioning.
Like sugar, there is a momentary boost of energy.
But afterwards, the toll taken on the system - for example,
the LIVER in particular - to process this heavy GOOK - all those
awful acids, etc -
LOWERS one's energy quotient.
In short one gets a short term jolt of what seems like energy.
But it masks the long term affects on one's health by
weakening much -- probably that contemporary science doesn't even know
about yet -
So tea is much more natural, much more calming.
What I was going to suggest - which I may have mentioned earlier on PF -
is a dark black Tea which only comes from China.
It's called Pu-Erh and now comes in many shades of Organic
Mixed with Ginger, Chrysanthemum, etc to perhaps give a lighter touch to it.
This gives more energy than usual black tea AND
is so powerful that it actually eats up fat and probably much else.
How do I know that it does? Because living in a Chinese - Russian
neighborhood of San Francisco as I did for many years,
one can pick up some of these less known tips.
The Chinese use Pu-Erh to digest a fatty meal, for example
the delectable morsels named Dim Sum.
There are vegetarian ones, but some have meat, including
one unmentionable type which is especially heavy and odious, and
a lot of lard / fat.
To counterract that heaviness, the Chinese drink lots of Pu-Erh.
It comes in quaint-looking circular rounds, making it fairly cheap,
and reminds me of the days the Silk Road caravans used to bring
tea across the vast deserts to the West.
The town of Kiakhta was a main transit point for some of them.
Pu-Erh also comes in Tea Bag format, but obviously it is not
as good a deal. Just for travel purposes when one has no time.
Finally Pu-Erh SOUNDS LIKE "Purity".
That's what it actually DOES: Purify the system from many
known -- and as yet undiscovered -- toxins.
Otherwise, these toxins build up and simply ARE the cause
of many diseases. Those illnesses could so EASILY be AVERTED
if one even does this easy and simple method
of substituting Pu-Erh or other healthy black teas
for Coffee.
Notice : what does "coffee" sound like ?
Cough, cough, tuberculosis, lung disease, etc...!
Think about it !!!
I have never drunk a cup of coffee, even I hate the smell of it,
but it's just a habit, like anything else, easy to kick if
one finds something BETTER.
Pu-Erh and teas like it actually have a strong rejuvenating taste.
They aren't bad at all, once you get used to them.
Shin chai is so nice for evening, I agree with everyone else on this.Last edited by Catya Sher; 08-26-2011, 02:29 PM.
