You can have royal deluxe 5* treatment at a snip of the prices you guys pay in North America.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. View Posti am going to stop eating 3 days before getting to dubai this time. it will be so much fun.
And you know what? Sometimes to pamper yourself with good food, lots of it, a health spa and a head massage, is no bad thing.
P.S. Women are allowed to visit mosques here, and we have some beautiful ones here, so there's that bonus too.

"meat of the people of the book"?
Since when was Mcdonald's an orthodox christain fast food chain?
I don't think its so much about the method of the killing as the mentioning of Allah's name upon the slaughtered animal. Orthodox Christains and Jews do this ...so it meets the Quranic requirement for what is halal. After all this is mentioned in the same ayat that pork is forbidden so it should be treated with equal seriousness.
Technically speaking...the hoki fish used for fillet-o-fish has no scales so it is not considered "halal" by most hanafi scholars.
Your thoughts on Gelatin?
Tried to eat two fillet-o-fish (since one is too small) and I almost puked.
Three months later when I had forgotten about my previous experience ...tried it again ...same result at the last bite. I guessed it was because of the fact that it has as much protein as it has fat...some trans fats and cholestrol. I prefer Halibut.

I have to say the hoki fish is one ugly fish.

Hoki fish have Deciduous scales: meaning temporary, falling off scales, at certain life cycle of a fish life it will loses its scales then becomes non scale fish so most Islamic Scholars are of the thought that it is Haram to eat. But if you catch it with the scales intact, it is halal to eat it.But I have to agree with the few ones that say that the way the people of the book kill meat right now in slaughter houses is not the traditional method of how they did it during the time of the prophet(pbuh) which makes it haram.
Here are the people that kill the Animals now.

These are not the traditional "people of the book." The sacrificing of animals for the purpose of eating them is sacred.

But thank you regardless. As far as the filet o fish is concerned, its advertised as cod fish.
I admit my general ignorance on the dietary laws, but am willing to learn more.
It is important, in my opinion, to discern what is truly written and then to obey it regardless of comfort level.
I had previously discussed the matters with a Syrian Sheikh regarding dietary laws and he had viewed the aforementioned as halaal and noted that America is considered a Christian majority country.
I plan on halting my acquisition of such products based on what you have provided until I read into it some more.
After all, I would be a hypocrit if I tried to bend the law to suit my vain desires versus what is actually written in textus receptus and the scholarly body of literature."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

I have to say the first part is funny but on the second one you are correct. The fillet o fish is widely believed to be cod. McDonald's originally used cod, before declining cod catches forced McDonald's to find sustainable fish elsewhere and turned to Hoki. in November 2007, McDonald's lowered the use of New Zealand hoki and increased the use of Alaskan pollock, due to declining numbers of New Zealand hoki fishery sustainability. McDonald's is trying to maintain fish only from areas certified as sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council, but that is becoming more difficult each year. Hoki is still a major ingredient. They have used white fish from the pacific as wellOriginally posted by BarakzaiAbdali View PostChik Filet Restaurant out of Georgia is orthodox Christian/anti gay etc.

I am confused why the Scholars are saying the the fish is Halal at one time of its life but not in the later stages when it looses its scales.Last edited by khushal; 06-09-2011, 02:56 PM.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

i seriously doubt that the beef from fast food burgers are made by "people of the book" since most people in the west are atheists and the animals are basically processed through machines. not to mention, the good lords name is probably not invoked when the animal is killed, id say food from the ganges caught via a hindus toes is probably more halal.
as for the filet o fish, it would be ok if it didnt cost so much. i could get a subway footlong for almost the same price as that damn mcfish.Last edited by randolph85; 06-12-2011, 05:34 AM.There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
