The image of Afghan women wearing police and army uniforms is meant to inspire pride and hope for a future where the rights of women will be protected in Afghanistan. The role of women is very important in maintaining Afghanistan’s security, especially in anti-insurgents operations. The first exclusive Afghan National Police Women's Police Corps Training Center was established in the heart of Jalalabad in December 2014. Despite the many challenges still ahead, Afghan women have had significant achievements since the fall of the Taliban regime. Currently, about 3,000 women are performing duty alongside men in the police force and they show their bravery and power by carrying out their duty just as the men do.
