  • Haha! Nice question! Well, I can tell you ALL the funny twists of it (maybe not all).

Its funny because the 's' is never pronounced as an 'es'. Its twisted to the sounds of a 'zed'/'zee', so you're not hearing it like Misbah/Mesbah anymore, it becomes Mez-ba. Some say Messba, some Mesbaah, Mezzbaah, Meshbaah, Mesha, Mesvah. I have never introduced myself to someone and only said my name once. Even with Muslims. I had a friend, about eight years my junior, he would call me Wispa, which was his utmost effort in changing it from Wisma. That's what he made of my name.

It really is مصٻاح. Zeembal, no? That's my story for you Afridi. Thanks for asking

    • Upset, nah. It's (like a friend says) minor. Haha, you really would? Imagine, my name is Mesbah, leaning so close I can almost see their ear drums, with all their effort they say: Mesva? Khuday kho de wosharmawa pe de khabera! Sar de wokhre! And then, oh wow, that's a long name ... Afridi, you've given me an idea!

But once the Muslims get the hang of it, it comes out so nicely. Missbaaahhhhhh, Arab style!

Lol, marriage proposals don't bother me much, not something my mother ever makes into a big deal. It's just marriage talk seems to be everywhere.

Aww honey, that's just parents. My Father rarely mentions marriage to me, he only ever says 'We'll marry you to real Pashtun's.'' - However he defines that...

                • ^So, Who and how would you base your future mate on?

Like, what characteristics do you give importance to?

                  Is being Pashtun that important?

Yeah i am trying. Like i have the pakhto accent now I can understand words here and there, but the verb conjugation is quite tricky for me. I bought two softwares, and my dad is helping me with the conversational part. And i am going to start speaking to my uncles in Pashto because they speak the Kandahari pashto. My father and mother speak the northeastern dialect. Since my great fathers are Durrani i want to speak both.
