cloned phone number

what does it mean when someone colons your number?? i have been receiving weird voice mail messages from local numbers that i have never heard of before and the funny thing is that it doesn't ring or anything, it goes directly in to my voice mail. i called back one of the numbers and the guy who picked up said that i had called him just a minute ago which is impossible because i was stuck in a traffic jam and my phone was right in front of me. he said my number had probably been cloned b y someone..and even my friends have been telling me that sometimes when they call me, some guy picks up and when they ask for me, he hangs up on them..

the ESN (electronic serial number) and MIN (mobile identification number) of your phone are transmitted to the network, identifying the cell phone dialed from and who to bill. You cant really change your ESN and MIN unless you change your cellphone number. I suggest you get a new number because i wouldn't be surprised if i saw a $100 bill everyday on your cell phone.
