I am just curious on how many people actually use Skype. I have been debating on whether to get it or not. All my friends use it, and i am the only one without one :P

Skype is the best. SO much better than Yahoo! and MSN messengers. The only thing lacking in it is the emoticons; I hate them ... but, meh, no biggie. You just use it for voice call if you don't wanna type the emoties. I've used voice vall on Yahoo!, too, but I didn't find it even half as good as Skype.

I really think its probably more convenient to talk to relatives and stuff. I dont ever go on Yahoo anymore and msn just once in a while. Facebook is only for my friends other than that, my cousins back home and Europe always ask me to get skype to keep in touch.

So does it charge or what? what exactly is it besides IMing and voice calls

No, it doesn't charge -- unless you wanna call people's mobiles or landlines. If you call their computers, it's free.
It's just IM'ing and voice calling and video calling and all.

Try it out; if you don't like it, uninstall it.

We used to have it and it's actually pretty decent! The video calls usually didn't work out too well for us for some reason :S but yeah, it's a good tool to keep in touch with family...
