  • Any Ipod Experts?

    So...
I have this like massive 80 gig ipod. I never use it. And I just found it the other day. I uploaded everything to it before I moved from home, and I have pictures even when I went to see my grandparents, and movies and everything. Some things are sooo important to me.

I downloaded Itunes, and I plugged the Ipod in, and it is saying if I want to "sync" this ipod to this itunes, it will erase everything because it is not the original laptop it was synch'd to...but that laptop is dead, long gone, in the garbagio.

All I want to do is transfer whats on it to a file or upload what is on it now to my computer...especially the pictures. But I don't know how to do that?

Any body? I'm going to cry....

you dont need an expert, connect your ipod to itunes..goto the ipod option and check the enable disk use

open "my documents" in the top tab goto "tools" -> folder options -> open the "view" tab and under "hidden files and folders" check mark " show hidden files"

goto "my computer" your ipod will appear as a flask drive..there will be folders there containing all your songs and pics and what not..they wont be with titles but rather codes like FZUJ and so on just copyt them onto your computer and then put them in itunes..sync em and your a happy girl

goto youtube and just look for tutorials if you didnt follow through

here you gotta do this when you get to tools and open "folder options"

when you open your ipod through my computer you will see all these folders in the ipod disk drive

Ipod_control contains all these folder named F06 or E06 or whatever..they contain all your music, instead of going in them just copy all these folders to your desktop

and photos will contain all the pictures

ok I got the music figured out.

When I click into my Ipod from my computers, I see options in folder icons, one being "photos".
I click on it and I have two options: thumbs and photo database.

Photo database I cant' do anything with. When I open it, it asks me to pick a program to use because it is not recognized.

Thumbs, I go in and get icons with stuff that starts wtih F1....but again when I click on them it asks me to find a program because it doesn't recognize the format.

Thank you for being patient. I am realllly slow. I appreciate it.

forget about seeing them, click on photos..copy paste it to your desktop and then add that folder to itunes by dragging it to the itunes section...then look in itunes photos, you should see your pictures

if that doesnt work, download the trial version of copytrans from here

Get CopyTrans to transfer iPod and iPhone music to PC and iTunes. Use CopyTrans Contacts to easily manage iPhone contacts, calendars and more…

                          and follow this youtube tutorial

I have options on the sidebar of itunes library: music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, ringtones and radio...
