How to dye with Syrian rue

Syrian rue(Peganum harmala), is a plant used for medical porposes(antibiotic, antiparasit, antidepressive) and as a traditional incense.
We call the plant Spand( in persian its Esfand, in Pashto unfortunately I do not know the name).
Except the typical uses its used to obtain red and yellow dye for wool(I suppose seeds or roots are used).
I am looking a long time for the recipy how to color wool for carpets with that type of plant, but i cannot find a detailed description of the technic used, maybe somebody of You can help me?
