  • How to write in Pashto?

    Assalam-Alaikum.

How can I write in Pashto?

The above is a question that is constantly asked, and has left many wondering. However, I have finally witnessed a solution that is intuitive, easy and quick!

    Download this software:Click me

Follow the regular installation process, and when it loads click on the drop down at the top-left and choose Pashto. That's it, and that's all.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I don't understand why would someone need to download any third part applications when you can use Microsoft Windows' patches to install Pashto language support on it. Pashto Input Method works with Windows XP, Vista and 7.

I now use my iphone. Download the free Application called pashto keyboard. I have v2.0 which is very good. Compose write, cut and paste.

Alternatively i use lexilogos.com pashto keyboard, introduced by a PF member. It is amazing. Type in nearest phonetic Latin/Roman alphabet character, and lexilogos types the pashto character. Compose write, C&P.

I am sure everby might be using Windows7 by now. You don't have to download/install a third party software for Pashto typing on Win7, all you gotta do is to "add" Pashto (Afghanistan) to your keyboard output (language) list. Bass!

Thanks. And you need to download third party Fonts if you want your text look beautiful.
