I have none of the ones mentioned, mines just a standard English accent, (perhaps a bit Northern).

Tor khan what kind of accent do you have?
          Crisp Oxford/BBC.

          (He lies).

When I lived in the US, during a severe mid-western snowstorm, my car wouldn't start in a public car park. It was late night and I needed to get home, so I called vehicle recovery.

The woman in the call centre had a thick African American vernacular and asked where I was ...

I explained by telling her something about being in a car park. She said "What?"

I said the car was stuck in a car park.

"Sorry, sir - I don't know what you mean. What's a caah paak?" she asked.

"Mmm... well I guess since in this country you accentuate your Rs, I'll try again - I'm stuck in a carrrrRRR parrrrrRRRk."*

This went on (we spoke for an hour +). She asked how I liked living in American and commented on how she loved my "London" accent now that she was speaking to the first "real" English person in her life. Apparently she said that I sounded like Prince Charles or William. (Little did she know!) "Do you live near Buckingham Palace?"

"Oh yeah - the Queen of England and I are neighbours."

"Great. Do you have red telephone boxes in your country?"

"Yeah. In fact I live in one."

"What kind o carrrRRRs do you drive in England?"

"Well, after morning tea, most of us put on a bowler hat and stiff collars and cycle to school on a penny farthing where we learn all about Shakespeare and Dickens."

[How easy it is to impress with a plummy English accent.]

          • That was a funny read.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                  Lol that's funny!

When we went back home our cousins teased us for our accents, they'd ask if we wanted ''wart-ah'' (water) and then laugh. Before then I never noticed how we hardly pronounce our R's.

I can't take someone serious with it.

                          I love the American accent.
                          =P

I thought the British accent sounded quite serious, and the American accent dramatised. Like how they make the words longer with more enthusiasm; ''Like ohh my gawwdd girlfriend!''. =)

LOL! I had to say that out loud to get it. When I think of the cockney accent I imagine Eastenders.

Cockney rhyme's interesting as well; 'apples and pears' for stairs, 'frog and toad' for road, 'ruby murray' for curry and so on.. some of it's quite hard to get.

                              • My wireless network wasn't showing up on my computer earlier. So I rang the service provider to ask why. The representative on the other end mistook my neighbours wireless to me mine, and from there I changed their security settings from unsecured to secured. Set a password for them and changed their network name too. Now, until I don't go door-to-door tomorrow and find out which poor household this was, they can't use their internet. Well, atleast I can teach them how to secure their settings ...

                                ... like Khaney says, gutted!
