Since the advent of Quantum Mechanics, I feel people have been so incredibly divided on which areas to place emphasis and which to let develop on their own. Although there are some possibly practical uses of black holes, I don't see the amount of money and energy going into them ever developing any feasible and attainable results.

I would much rather like to see people focus on things that could revolutionize life here, on Earth. Areas such as Quantum Computing which are on the horizon represent the future of technology. A computer which is, albeit theoretically, believed to be 300 trillion times faster than the fastest supercomputers in the world could solve many of the advanced scientific issues scientists are tackling today. For a quantum computer, solving even the most difficult problems pertaining to black holes would even take mere moments.

Anyway, that's just how I feel about it.
