Jasmine its not jealousy....the son should understand that nobody cantake anybody's place... mother is mother and herplace no one can take....but the wife is given the 1st place.....hence the mother feel insecure....

and about sports....girls are also very good at sports, the fact that you cant deny... but the truth also is that Allah taala has made men physically more strong then women....
