  • Pain...

I have a question to the pf members who are in the medical field like BarakzaiAbdali, Din, Laila, Luffy and other members if any.
What is Pain ? What are the causes of pain ?
Is it the pressure of blood or some irregularity in normal flowing of blood cells or any other cells. Just want to know the basic cause. What science says about it.

This question can also be answered by those who are related to poetry and literature. They can answer in it poetical or in prose way.

Emkhan, it's too complicated to explain in few words. What kind of pain do you mean? Chronic, acute, phantom? Causes of pain? Even stress can cause difficult to diagnose and treat pain.
I also have my own experience related to chronic pain.
Let me know if you want me to upload sth about pain in our library.

I remember, after the surgery I was awake by my own screams. I howled of pain. I remember the comment "she has a low threshold of pain" So what?? Who they were to comment without prior examination my feelings?
I think that only people involved in paliative treatment have some idea about pain.

And sth more. Chronic pain changes personality.

I have no idea how to describe pain. Basically pain is defined as an unpleasant sensation that sends a signal to the brain to know what doesnt feel good via nerve pathways. Physical pain is usually a result of an illness or disease, inflammation, tissue damage. It causes discomfort and distress within the body. It may be a sharp crucial feeling, it can be throbbing such as that of a migrane, it can be a burning sensation, i mean there are all sorts. But the degree of pain is different from person to person. Physicians have a hard time understanding the pain that a patient endures because its an individual thing...they can just know as soon as you mention what kind that you feel? the duration? has the discomfort gotten worse? and such. But the degree of pain is different from person to person. What i might find painful is different from what Emkhan does. Like Yasameenah mentioned, there are two main types of pain: acute (burns, post surgery, illness) and chronic (headache, backaches, arthritis).

So i am not sure what else you would like to know
