I call Deepak Chopra a Guru because he is a teacher , a master and guru means master or teacher. He is a teacher/guru of healthy life. He is guru because he combines spiritualism with his other approaches.
His contributions in popularizing the ancient relaxation practices, transcendental meditation, spiritual solutions, spiritual healing practices, enlightenment, consciousness, holistic health, alternative medicine etc are laudable.
Chopra has written more than 75 books, including 21 New York Times bestsellers. His books have been translated into 35 languages and sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

Chopra is a controversial figure. According to a 2008 article in Time magazine, he is "a magnet for criticism", primarily from those involved in science and medicine. His critics accuse him of creating a false sense of hope in sick individuals which may keep them away from effective medical care.
Tompkins, Ptolemy (November 14, 2008). "New Age Supersage". time.com. Retrieved December, 2012. "Ever since his early days as an advocate of alternative healing and nutrition, Chopra has been a magnet for criticism"
His too much focus on mind is also not liked by people like me who follow Osho who was more for mindlessness or No -Mind.
Let us discuss this very popular but controversial figure.
