Just a thought for everyone to consider...

Although it is easy enough to Google a book or textbook and find a PDF of it, I am not quite sure if it is wise to peddle them on PF.

It might create problems for PF and for Admin Khan wror if authorities were to shut the website down on the grounds that people are using it as a hub to illegally distribute copyrighted material. Anyway, just a thought.

Material with a creative commons stamp or in the public domain should be ok ... but no copyright material. People are reminded.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

The Google Books link suggested by Admin Khan is great, but if you want your own version for download and keep forever, then you can choose PDF Amazon Kindle Format, EPUB etc. then follow this link here:

The Arabian Nights by Andrew Lang | Feedbooks

Fans of the Arabian Nights will know that the Andrew Lang version of the stories is the "cleaned up" version.

Richard Burton took the fantasy and made the stories high brow Victorian adult-orientated reading by exaggerating the exotica elements with his copious footnotes. It's very much an Orientalist view, but his version is still worth looking at if you are interested in the Alf Laila Wa Laila stories.

The Thousand and One Nights, Burton tr.

this is pretty cool how many books are available online now, but aren't the book companies going to lose a lot of money?

I just got a free book in pdf format, and it only took 4 minutes to download (it was 35MB). The book costs $60 used, and $120 new.

I was wondering if anyone might be able to post a book on the Afridi dialect. Anything to do with vocab and/or grammar would be fine. Thanks in advance.
