To Stop Cheats, Colleges Learn Their Trickery

Damn. I remember having to turn in each essay to turnitin.com. Pain in the butt.

www.turnitin.com is a website that universities use to catch plagerism. I believe what the website does is run a search of the whole essay on the net. If the student has copy pasted material onto her essay or used someone else's the search will pull it up. I think they have a percentage gage, if a certain percentage is met it means you've plagerised. And they send the results to your school.

I'm pretty sure they use it in the US too.
