i don't know who designed that but it looks depressing. even if they had painted it a different color, it would have looked less of a ghost town to wander through. what a waste of money.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
The Computer Science website of Peshawar University looks terrible, and is full of typos. It looks as if a 4th grader designed it, and a 2nd grader typed up its site content.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

PESHAWAR: The proposed 2013-14 budget for Peshawar University Teachers Association was approved in the general body meeting held at the Law College of the university on Tuesday. The budget amounts to Rs2.5 million as compared to last year’s Rs1.6 million. A major policy statement for the upcoming year’s Golden Jubilee celebrations was also unveiled in the session. PUTA has marked 2013 as a celebration year, with international conferences to promote higher education and an expo-exhibition of 48 departments of the university. PUTA President Jameel Ahmed Chitrali thanked the academic fraternity for electing him for a second term. He also welcomed suggestions to increase transport facilities for students who live off-campus. The PUTA was established in 1962.

Well---the web contents are usually posted by clerks or some low-level technical guy --- Our people have yet to learn centralized content-design and information posting system.
Anyhow as to my knowledge, the department is good with research increasing after the adoption of tenure track system by universities and very strict criteria for graduate research (cannot graduate until publication in an international journal).
Aesthetics amd architecture nuances at one side Peshawar University is still a blessing for Pashtuns. Many Afghan Pashtuns are still studying there. I have been to this university few times. Educational standard is up to the mark.
Sign boards in Pashto are a new addition. Credit goes to ANP government. Previously all boards used to be only in Urdu if not in English.
I found Pesahwar Engineering University very very impressive during my last visist. They are doing work of international quality specially in earthquake sciences. Their Vice chancellor Mr Gilani is a highly dynamic and professional person.
Peshawar Agriculture University and Forest Institute also have international standards.
^if you have any connects at PU, let them know with a website that low quality, they wont attract bright students. Seriously, I know the CS department can do a better job, especially with all those typos. It's a university, don't forget that.

Following link shows some 49 foreign qualified PhDs have returned to join the UET Peshawar while some 95 are in the pipeline. That will give boost to the university in terms of academics and research.
