In my opinion, if one were to ask what is the best university on earth, who can serve as a role model for all others, it would not be Yale, Harvard, Oxford, CalTech, UCB, or any other school, it would hands down be the world's only gem, MIT.

To be an alumni of MIT is nothing short but an honor.

The most innovative, with the brightest students on earth at it again:

Eric Giler demonstrates wireless electricity at TEDGlobal 2009 - YouTube
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

While the AFPAK region is fighting against barbaric suicide attacks, MIT invents wireless electricity, that's just one of the thousands of their innovation inventions. I urge you all to learn about the importance of MIT, along with it's contributions to humanity.

There would be no such thing as the world wide web on earth, had it not been for MIT and Tim Berners Lee. The same goes for E-mail, air-conditioned buildings, etc.

I think air-conditioning was invented during the Roman times.

Not with those air-con machines but with the natural flow of air through buildings.
        The only constant is change.

Commercially, air conditioned buildings was all MIT.

If your office temperature is always comfortable, you might thank Pietro Belluschi. The dean of MIT’s School of Architecture + Planning from 1951-65, he designed the Equitable Building (later named the Commonwealth Building), a sleek office space in Portland, Ore., that was completed in 1948. Wrapped in aluminum, it was the first large commercial building in the country to be fully air-conditioned. It also was the first to have double-glazed glass windows, which helped reduce glare from the sky and, therefore, controlled solar heat better.

          Speaking of air-conditioning,

Check this out new MIT invention out:

Solar power would appear to be an obvious choice for the developing world, but as impoverished regions need systems that are simple, self-operating and cheap to build and maintain, this is generally not the case. The ability to provide heating in addition to electricity would also be beneficial…

wror jana ....you are wrong ....the best, most brilliant students on earth are clearly at Dar Ul Uloom Al Haqqania at Akorah Khattak.

There you can learn to forget Pashto and master Urdu, inherit India cultuire and teach you the scientific and logical brilliance of how to use a miswak correctly; and important facts about rolling up your pant legs, whether or not your wudhu is invalid when you see a woman's hair.

MIT pales in comparison to the brilliant brains of Akora Khattak

behold the face of genius wrora

My dad's friend is a faculty member at MIT; we used to go hang out there when I was a kid to take a tour of the EM Astronomy lab; it was awesome.

well even if he did have American patriotism; since you think suicide bombing civilians is the act warriors; at least one of you two has some type of patriotism.

but you're peddling disingenuous bull**** which obligates me to reply to you regardless who you're talking to

You are THE LAST person to be commenting on other's patriotism ISI stooge.

You know something? You are not a child, and with respect to my manners, I've been trying to avoid you. In Pashto, we have a mattal that the 'khra sara zaan ma achawa' and knowing your disrespectful tone, I've tried to avoid you(despite you spewing nonsense)for that very reason. However, It's my duty to expose stupidity of unrelated posts in a thread that has nothing to do with your rant. I mean seriously, is mentioning the obvious(that MIT is the world's best Engineering school)a sense of American patriotism? How dumb are you? Grade school di khatam khari di? Yaara, I try very hard to avoid you, but this sheer level of stupidity that you've been displaying the past few days is unparalleled.

but would you cut down on your demeaning comments on "AFPAk".

Either refute what I say, or shut it. My comments are pretty accurate on the AFPAK region. We have more suicide institutions, then educational institutions. Let's not act blind and ignorant about the obvious, and please let's not paint a gloomy picture of a war-torn nation. Afghanistan has suffered from decades of war. But you don't need to drag AUTONOMOUS(look that word up)institutions into politics. MIT has many 'Muslim' students(perhaps some from your home land of Holland as well) so cut it off keyboard warrior. One more derailing post here, and I will delete them. Focus on the thread on hand here, which is about the glorious MIT. An institution that the entire world is trying to replicate. Education has no nationality, stop discriminating.

                          Caveat:
Let me give you quick taste of evidence, not a single one of my post mentions the word 'America' or 'American' but you still some how dragged it into the conversation.

And if it was this post that childishly boiled your blood, then prove me wrong. While Agha Waqar tried to reverse the law of Physics, MIT researches came up with wireless electricity. Notice the technological gap here, one fraudulent Engineer(He was actually a Fraud, look him up)thought he can reverse the Laws of Physics to invent a car that runs on water. Research per capita matters, look at Iran on the other hand. Hats off to Iran.
