Really? It's a good discipline. Very beneficial knowledge for developing countries.
Yeah, just before my first degree - then I went into education and now my MA (almost complete) is in Digital Technologies and Education ...
I once envisioned that I'd wind up working for the UN or something ... still searching ... from our point of view life's appears a bit unpredictable ...
Would the DL (distance learning) option work for you in a discipline that you'd prefer?
Initially, I wanted to do my BA in Islamic Studies/Sciences. That didn't happen, of course, as Perth doesn't offer it. So I decided to do my MA in it, considering Melbourne or Sydney as an option. In the Islamic and Pashtun sense, that didn't work out either. And Political and Social Sciences is not offered as PostGrad courses in the uni's I intend to apply for. So, I chose this field.
I am already compeleting a Diploma with an Academy in Sydney ... distance learning ... self-paced course. And, I have taken forever to do it. I don't think I would have any difficulties with the formalities, but, the person that I am, I prefer on campus studies. For now at least.

I understand ... if I wasn't living here and if I didn't need to work full time, I would have much preferred to have been on campus.

... We all make sacrifices/compromises ...
Such is life. Allah says when we leave something for Him, He compensates it with something of more value and goodness in our lives. I suppose, I can do IS someday, in the safety and presence of my family. InshaAllah.
I did a couple of years in the Civil Service. Apparently they make you sign the Official Secrets Act, which means that you cannot talk about your job until you die ... and then of course, it's too late.
