great list . The number of speakers have to be updated. Interesting that Ormuri language has just 100 speakers!

Zargari language - its a language used by kids when they dont want that adults hear what they talking about. I recently spoke about with my Tajik teacher.

There is a very good book written in Polish about secret languages of Afghanistan. I know it will be soon published in English.

Updating this list is what Im gonna do in next year. But data will be a bit skewed. Taking into account the current situation in Afghanistan I can't go there and check how it looks on the spot. I will have to search for data in libraries, interent, ask people...

Zargari is an argot based on Dari language. The name comes from Perisan/Dari language where zargar means goldsmith. Apart from kids it has been used by different craftsmen.

Zargari (or Zingar) has been also indentified in some areas of Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Former Russian republics and Europe. Italian Gypsies are called Zangari what means inviolable and comes from Greek word "atsinganoi". Astinganoi was a name of "sect" from Asia involved in witchcraft.

Another meaning of Zargari - its a synonym of secret language.
