  • An Elder is someone who takes your soul, your will into his soul and in to his will. Having chosen an Elder, you renounce your will and give it to him under total obedience and with total self renunciation. A man who dooms himself in to this trial, this terrible school of life, does so voluntarily, in the hope that after the long trial he will achieve self conquest, self mastery to such a degree that he will, finally, through a whole life's obedience, attain to perfect freedom. That is, freedom from himself- and avoid the lot of those who live their whole lives without finding themselves in themselves.
It is also true, perhaps, that this tested and already thousand year old instrument for the moral regeneration of man from slavery to freedom and to moral perfection may turn into a double edged weapon, which may lead a person not so humility and ultimate self control but, on the contrary, to the most satanic pride- that is, to fetters and not freedom."

    So true.

I was searching the quote and found it to be from The Heidegger-Buber Controversy: The Status of the I-Thou By Ḥayim Gordon
It seems very near to Osho's teaching who is for total freedom and liberty.

      • The problem is Osho's beliefs on freedom is in actually slavery when looked at from reality. It is only a desperation that Osho promotes.

that is not part of any conspiracy. i took it down myself from one of dostovesky's books to describe the conquest of one of the three brothers. i think the name of the book was The Karamazov Brothers.

karachi, i once heard that vinod khanna abandoned everything sometime during the 90s or 80s to go to usa and become osho's gardener. he was there doing that for at least 5 years until his family managed to drag him back to india. prior to this, i had always assumed that man's skull had some considerable amount of brains in it. which makes me wonder, what is it about these people that make them so vulnerable to this sort of brainwashing..

Yup, Vinod Khanna lived with Osho for 4 years in the States during the 80's. He quit bollywood when he was on top, when his popularity was rivaling that of Amitabh. His wife also divorced him during this period I believe.

                This is him with Osho

Vinod Khanna once said in a interview that he was always spiritual from inside since he was a kid and was always looking for answers. The thing that attracted to him to Osho was his meditation techniques, I think this is also why many others were drawn towards Osho as well

He still follows Osho and I believe he runs or visits Osho's meditation centers in India and Nepal

People in this world are vulnerable, especially when they are seeking answers to many of the life's questions

money + impressionable hippies = silly things happening.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

                      • He believed in euthanasia for babies born with birth defects, even defects like blindness, deafness, or dumbness etc. His belief devalued human life as it proposed that some individuals have worthier lives than others simply because they're not born with defects. I know a person who's blind and one who's deaf and they're both more productive and happy than many people who are physically healthy. He was also a supporter of eugenics.

I disagree with a lot of his teachings.
