i read books about afghanistan, some of them were good and others not
but they all had the same: when i came to the chapter about religion. this chapter contain that afghanistan was always an open country due other religion and accepted them too. and this is what i see from refugees who are now living their land.

Tolerance in Islam does not mean allowing kaafirs to run amok. Sadly, the secular nationalists have this idea that the more tolerant they are towards kaafirs, the better they are.

In reality it only means that you have no self respect.

If we learn to have critical appraisals of thinkers, scholars, gurus, Sufis then we will have a mature discussion. You may quote Osho and then may have a critical appreciation of his thoughts. You may agree with him or not but may not engage in personal remarks.

Millions like Osho and many may dislike him. It is natural. Millions like Prophet Muhammad and many may hate him. Except natural sciences there can never be absolute agreement of all to some thing or some one.

This is the crux of the matter. Why Pashtuns to day have more terrorists, Salafis, Wahabis and Taliban? Because they have left the path of Sufism and traditional Islam. Under a heavily funded program by Saudis in the aftermath of 1979 Pashtuns were indoctrinated and were made anti Sufism and pro Wahhabism and to day we see Pashtunland to be the hub of terrorism.

I remember and my parents tell me that in Kunarr and Dir we had shrines and Sufi circles but now all these have been wiped out by Deobandis and Wahabis. This is why you find it strange that how a Kandahari Pashtun can be a Sufi.

Ask your elders in your own area. How much peaceful it was with Sufi doctrines before the arrival of Deobandis, Panjpeeris, wahabis, salafis and Ahle Hadith.
