  • Kandahari Students Get the Administrative System

KANDAHAR-Kandahari students were briefed during a meeting regarding administrative system at the meeting hall of the Kandahar governor palace Sunday morning. The meeting was conducted by children’s civil society and the Kandahar governor, leaders of the children’s civil societies and some teachers and students took part in. The Kandahar governor stated the opening remarks to the meeting and praised the step being held by the children’s civil society in Kandahar which will help Kandahari teachers and students to boost their understanding regarding the national and sub-national administration of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. He added “years ago, we didn’t have enough facilities in Kandahar but we had a strong education system compared to the current, and we had experienced teachers which we don’t have at the moment”. He added that Kandahari students had education trips in the past and had opportunity to get essential information in the areas of agriculture and live stock and health which was very important, but unfortunately that process has been stopped and I hope we can launch that again. The Kandahar governor asked the students to start the process of education trips once again and through this way work for strengthening education in Kandahar. He also responded a bunch of questions by the meeting participants regarding the national and sub-national administrations in Afghanistan. The meeting participants pledged to start the process of rivalry among the Kandahari students as it was in the past. The Kandahar governor was optimistic about the future of education in Kandahar and said that this kind of meetings will boost the education system in Kandahar. He also promised the stakeholders for his full support at all and added that he has discussed the higher education ministry and some external countries to send the capable high school graduates to the international universities. The meeting participants also asked about administrative systems, education and narcotics and got the responses from the related directors. Meanwhile, Kandahar governor also distributed one note book and one scarps to the participants which were provided by the children’s civil society. (PR)

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
