YouTube - Is India's caste system a crime against humanity?

  • #2
the caste system is not good but probably worked well for the indians for centuries. i was reading that the brits used child slaves for years and australia, america and others have used those they oppressed as slaves and cheap labour. the west is so good at making negative judgements on the third world countries yet they have become rich from these past enslavements of others, themselves.
at the moment i still can't watch utubes so hope i am not speaking out of line wth the subject matter there.
i lived in india for 2 years and i saw that some of the poorest were actually the happiest.

caste system is one of things that is keeping india behind for example to countries like China, Chinese are erasing their poverty yet in India still around 70-80% of population is poor

i'm not sure that that is what is keeping india behind. they have so many people, so many infrastucture and other problems to sort out. very big job.but they need to stop doing ridiculous things like sending rockets to the moon or wherever it was they sent it. they need to invest in their people.
when i was last there they banned smoking in public throughout the whole country and i was saying, they should be banning poverty, as i looked at some poor crippled beggar, on the street.

^ yeah there are many other things too, but caste system keeps low caste people poor on purpose, while the higher castes get richer beyond belief

the birth rate is another issue. i think india is working on eradicating the caste system though i know it will be a long process. i read that some of the low caste are in council or government in some places. fixing india will take such a long time and they have all the vampires in there now. the monsantos, pharmaceutical companies using uneducated indians as guinea pigs to test their drugs cheaply (sometimes without their knowledge) mc donalds and the rest of them. the neo colonialism.

i once read somewhere that a man who has no will power over his desires has no value understanding nor respect for freedom of any sort and that hunger unsatisfied could be one of the most dangerous form of passion. what is the point of freedom if you are treating another human being less than you would want to be treated yourself based on their skin color or the region of the country or the type of the cast that they were born in to??
who are we to point our fingers at india when we have these very ridiculous corrupted values ourselves? don't we have the hazara, tajik , pashtun and uzbak thing going on??
and faye, money doesn't feed poverty in a society but attitude does. india has every right to be aware and educated to the level of understanding that other advanced countries have of their surroundings. they just need to stop expecting the poor to be satisfied with their lifestyles because God made them the way and that they are destined to live and die in poverty.

there is one good thing about the caste system. Due to the caste system of India, many untouchable Hindus became Muslims

Aurenzeb took advantage of the caste system, and ensured that Islam was preached to the low caste masses. Seeing that they could live dignified lives, many people converted to Islam where they found truth.

conversion to islam should be based on ones belief in God/allah. not a compromise with one's conscience to escape the negative norms of an unjust society.

dzj, if money doesn't feed poverty, why do the beggars ask for money?

what i meant by that is that india has all or most of the resources it needs but only available for the rich.
                      .
back in the days we had beggars that went door to door and ask for flour and food...
the beggars of today don't beg for your kindness and generosity.. they know better than expecting you to feed them meals or give them a blanket or medication.. they know well that you don't have the time nor do you give a damn and so like anything else that you buy yourself with money, why not praise your ego with waving off a bill in their face...come on woman, you should know this..

the "old hag" syndrome is said to be very contagious. i would have advised you if i knew you had such a weak immune system. the constant reminder of youth wasted in vain can be very troublesome sometimes. don't worry, i feel for you.
