  • India offers scholarships to Afghan students

NEW DEHLI (PAN): India pledged to provide scholarships for 300 Afghan university students and reiterated that the country is committed to the development and progress of Afghanistan, India’s foreign minister said on Thursday.
Meeting with Afghan journalists in New Delhi, S M Krishna said they would bring 300 agriculture students to India over the next five years. He said Afghanistan lacked professionals to build good irrigation systems and lacked modern means to run its agricultural sector.
Afghanistan is an important country in terms of trade, transit and security in the region and India, wants to be a close ally.
He said that India was determined to work for the development of Afghanistan and enhance the capacity of Afghans.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

There is no doubt indians are very good at learning and education, they have been for the last 5000 years, I wish pakistani students can also go study at their universities. One thing all muslims around the world can learn from indians and chinese is that the way the value education

@Topic - welcome news. I knew one Afghan management student in Delhi.

Karachi - You forget the shared 5000 year common history. The whole sub-continent was good at learning and education. Taxila, one of the world's first universities, is in your part of the sub-continent. And the Rig Veda was compiled in your part of the Punjab.

I think the difference has been in the post-independence period. India spent a lot of resources in creating world-class higher learning institutions like the IITs and IIMs. We do lag behind in primary education levels though.

What is this, am I detecting sarcasm. The only thing pakistan did was let the CIA and the saudis build madrasas in the refugee camps to etreminize the population so they can destroy their own country.

Loopy lacks the pashtun quality of being straight forward, the pashtun quality of being polite, he always has this snake like remark where he stabs you in the back. In afghanistan, the kabulis are famous for such quality. He would be very comfortable with the kabulis.
Loopy doesnt realize that Pakistan is falling apart and the brunt of it is being felt by pashtuns, he is still in love with the panjabi elites and they tell him he was a slave during the durani empire but he has equal rights today. Free your mind loopy and see the light.
when some of the pakistani nationals hear that an afghan gets his/her education in India, it boils their blood.

The education that afghans receive in india has nothing to do with the pornography channels that are provided in afghanistan. pornography channels are provided everywhere in afghansitan, pakistan, india, the arab world. you could even get them in Iran and Saudi arabia where it is ilegal. You could even get it on the moon if you have a satellite dish.
The distorted history that afghans receive in afghanistan is because the government is too weak to correct it because the government lacks the courage and the education to make the wrong into the right.
