We are working with the Lateef Project which is in partnership with Birmingham City Council and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust.
The Lateef Project offers telephone Islamic counselling for which training will be provided. At the moment the counsellors are volunteers.
An extension to the project is face to face counselling on Saturday mornings at a GP surgery.
We have identified multiple psychological problems in the Pashtun community and really need volunteer Pashto interpreters and people willing to undergo training in Islamic counselling.
