    Removal of painless wisdom teeth

Recent guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommend that impacted wisdom teeth (which haven't come through the gum normally) that are otherwise healthy shouldn't be removed. Only if the tooth is diseased or causing other problems in the mouth, such as severe pain, should it be taken out.
These recommendations are for the NHS. If a patient feels differently, teeth can be removed privately.
There are two main reasons behind the NICE recommendations:
    • There's no reliable research to suggest the removal of disease-free impacted wisdom teeth has any benefit to the patient
    • There is always some risk from surgery (including nerve damage, damage to other teeth, infection, bleeding and, rarely, death), which can't be justified if there are no benefits from the operation

People who might need the operation
Your dentist will be able to advise you whether surgery is necessary.
The problems that might mean it should go ahead include untreatable tooth decay, abscesses, cysts or tumours, disease of the gums and other tissues around the tooth, or when the tooth is in the way of other surgery or orthodontic work.

i have an iraqi friend who had hers removed by some idiot. it got infected and eventually she ended up getting cancer. they had to remove part of the side of her jaw.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled out about 2 years ago. The experience will differ from person to person. It took me about 5 days to endure the pain, while a few other people i know took only a day or two to recover.

Just know that you will have swollen cheeks, you will look quite funny. You will feel like your back jaw is pounding, you will be drugged up on meds, and you will lose a couple of pounds.

OH and to be honest, if you are getting them out, get a second opinion on whether you need them out or not......dentists and oral surgeons are infamous to claim things very quickly.

nope, nothing of that sort. Just one day during a regular check-up, my dentist mentioned that if i dont remove my wisdom teeth, that i would have problems down the road. Not that i had any sort at the moment. I knew i should have gotten a second opinion because at that time, our insurance didnt cover much of it, and i had university applications during that time. So i was a total mess.
