China to build 10,000 apartments in Kabul

By ZABIHULLAH MOOSAKHAIL - Sun Nov 01 2015, 10:42 am

People’s Republic of China is building 10,000 apartments in Kabul which would be provided to government officials on long-term installments.
Minister of Urban Development Affairs and Housing says it is the second biggest housing project in Afghanistan after the assistance of former Soviet Union.

Sayed Sadat Mansour Naderi said upon the completion of this project, a high number of government officials who do not have own homes would find permanent shelters.

“These residential units would be constructed in a comparatively small area and would be provided to government officials, who do not have own homes or apartments, on long-term installments,” he said.
“The implementation of this project would be a big step towards the institutionalization of the concept of ‘affordable housing’ in Afghanistan which can solve the problem of homelessness. It is also one of the characteristics for the economic growth and to help improve the living condition of working-class people to middle-class.”
Naderi said more than $100 billion have been spent in different areas in past 10 years which has not brought a direct positive change in the lives of poor people or those with no shelter.

“But the construction of 10,000 residential units by China is a biggest and memorable grant for the people of Afghanistan,” he said.
Ministry of URban Development Affairs Project

“Young couples who newly marry cannot afford to buy own houses because of high prices and no system of mortgage. But the Ministry of Urban Development Affairs and Housing in coordination with other institutions would generate a system to provide residential units to people with no advance payments and on cheap and long-term installments,” Naderi said, adding that “a part of their salaries would be deducted for the long-term installments and they would become the owners of permanent shelters.”
This comes as hundreds of thousands of families from villages and towns have moved into the cities across the country and live in rental homes from long time. Because of high prices in cities they have not been able to buy own permanent shelters.

    Kabul.

    1. China is the world's largest economy in PPP terms and 2nd in nominal terms.

    2. It has a border with Afghanistan and is also important trading partners with Iran and the quickest way to get to Iran for China is through Afghanistan.

    3. China is also investing in other central Asian countries and in the future Kabul can catch up to other central Asian capitals and perhaps overtake them.

    Astana, capital of Kazakhstan.

    Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan.

China, Russia, India, Iran, Turkey will not allow Afghanistan to be destroyed or to fall to the increasingly weaker and weaker and more and more divided pro-Pakistan, Taliban militant group.

Appartments are for govt employees thats housing for people who already have jobs. They are not building homes for hundreds of thousands of homeless IDP's.

They are not helping Afghans. They are helping the corrupt government.

Afghans are not helping the homeless afghans , why should the Chinese help them for free?? And shamlawar, why are you so eager to accept khairat instead of job opportunities?? This will help the economy immensely if it works. Think of all the labour jobs it will provide and all that infrastructure of the lack of which people where whining a couple of weeks ago. However, this is not the smartest move for whichever Chinese is investing in it. I hope they don't reconsider and choose to cancel thier plans.

All those Murtad pigs working for the government live off khairat. Without khairat, the guilty pigs you care so much about wouldn't even have money for a bowl of rice.

The filthy murtad pigs who work for the government havent done anything but stealing from khairat given to Afghans by foreigners. While doing so, they made Afghanistan worlds most corrupt nation.

Why does it offend you if I call them by their name? They are stinking kaafir rodents.
