Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has highly praised successful actions taken by Bangladesh to fight terrorism.

He expressed his appreciation at a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday afternoon after the inauguration of the 18th SAARC summit in Kathmandu.

Hasina met him after holding another meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Crowne Plaza Kathmandu-Soaltee.

Later, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told reporters that Sharif said that Pakistan too had some successes in containing terrorism in recent time.

He said the two leaders also shared their experiences in the socio-economic development of both countries.

Hasina informed Sharif about Bangladesh’s successes in generating power from solar energy.

The Pakistan prime minister at the time expressed interest in sending a delegation to Bangladesh to gather ideas about solar energy.

Prior to the meeting with Nawaz Sharif, Hasina had met Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the same venue, reported Sumon Mahbub, our Senior Correspondent travelling with the prime minister.

Foreign Minister Ali said both of them emphasised on enhancing bilateral connectivity and boosting trade and business while Koirala expressed his determination to secure SAARC member countries' collective prosperity through joint natural resources management.

Hasina at the meeting also showed interest to import power from Nepal.

She also expressed keenness to export Bangladeshi pharmaceutical, ceramic, readymade garments, leather and leather goods, vegetables and other agro produces to Nepal.

The prime minister also met Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on the sidelines of the summit on Wednesday.

AH Mahmood Ali told reporters that the Afghan president had discussed relevant bilateral issues with Hasina.

Ghani also lauded Bangladesh's tremendous successes in alleviating poverty.

Prime Minister Hasina later at night joined the other heads of the governments attending the summit at a dinner hosted by the Nepalese prime minister.

*Nawaz Sharif is more diplomatic and orientated towards co-operation with both Bangladesh and India.

However the Pakistan military is the supreme ruler of Bangladesh and responsible for "security" issues which includes destabilizing Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh with terrorism.

Someone like Nawaz Sharif has very little say in what the Pakistan army does in Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh in terms of sponsoring terrorists and extremists.

    Shukran ya Masr!!!

Thanks to Egypt for supporting Bangladesh against Pakistani harassment and support for terrorists and war criminals!!

It doesn't matter, nawaz sharif has only 2 days left in power,30th of nov will decide his future, which i am surely is in haripur jail considering he sanctioned money for terrorist organizations.

If nawaz sharif indeed was a true leaders,he would have pulled out Pakisan from this non sense SAARC as long as India doesn't stop sending terrorist and funding the local to Pakistan.

Sri lanka is already a close ally,to which we can opt through water for trade,Bangladesh is again a lost case because of under RAW imposed govt.

Leaving only Afghanistan,of which we already are the largest trade partners and growing.

Why does people hate Nawaz? He seems like a decent guy who tries to have a good relation with the neighboring countries. While the Pakistani army is constantly trying to destabilize it neighbors by supporting terrorism. The funny thing is, that it has caused Pakistan more terrorism than it neighbors. Basically Pakistani army have caused the unrest and terrorism you see today in Pakistan. Yet, for some reason I see no one blaming the army, but rather point their fingers on Nawaz...
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

nawas sharif itself is the product of dictorship(Zia ul haq),today he's a billionaire, prior to his corruption his family use to sell pakora/samosay in nathyagali

Nawaz sharif itself might be a good person and no matter how much good is his govt or he want relations with neighbours,we cannot accept a person elected through rigging.

Chaudhary iftikhar(sometime also called as corruption iftikhar) aswell as Ex ISI chief Shuja pasha arranged all the game for rigging.

nawas sharif also had support from land mafia such as malik riaz.and if it wasnt the opposition of Imran khan,he would have by now given off kashmir to india as a gift because he's a coward

Lets be honest, most of what you said are conspiracy theories. And the military do share its part in corruption. The real question is, whether the corruption is due to the military or the government. One can answer that by simply pointing out which one have more influence.
I be honest with you. Corruption cannot be eradicated from the government if the military have a greater say in it. How can the state remove the corruption if there is a power who is equal or even bigger in the play.
Pakistan's currently bad state is due its military involvement with non-state actors. The bad relation with neighboring countries are also because of that involvement. India, Afghanistan and even Iran. Before Afghans were raising Pakistani flags, but today Afghans are burning that flag.
It is not because Afghans got influenced by anyone, but rather that the Pakistani military actively supporting non-state actors in overthrowing the Afghan government. The victims isn't even the Afghan state, but rather the Afghan civilians.
If Pakistan wants to become something worth mentioning. Then Pakistan needs to get its act together and focus on diplomacy and let the head of state do his job. Foreign involvement should be through head of the state and not the military.

Regarding the Kashmir thing you mentioned. It is all just propaganda. The Indians said the exact same thing to its previous government. It is a propaganda created by extreme right wings, to fool the uneducated for their fascist ideologies.

I am not here to defend Nawaz or any other politicians. It is up to the Pakistanis themselves to judge their politicians. I am here to tell you that most of the conflicts in Pakistan is due to its military, and everyone else get blamed for it.

None of them are conspirencies as prove is all set to be admitted against him in the recent future by Imran khan.

I agree about the military part but we don't need any sort of development relations with india as otherwise it will make us too dependent on india like bangladesh because of the cheap market they have,as with the grant of MFN to india, the trade growth will be many folds with potential of 50Billion dollars trade per year.

Well today, not only Pakistan but even india is funding terrorism in pakistan, even Iran is funding terrorism in pakistan as was proven by iranian agency support for shia in parachinar and dera ismail khan.so it is all tit for tat with them.if they willing for proxy war,we are more than willing.

Nawaz sharif is the prime problem as he doesn't know how to build foriegn relations.

Even Hazrat Ali (R.A) said, never let a business man be your leader.

Bangladesh has nothing to ask for from Pakistan, says Hasina

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina says there is nothing Bangladesh can get from Pakistan but believes relations should not be strained with any country.

Addressing the media on Friday on the 18th SAARC Summit and her Malaysia tour, she said the Bengalis were a victorious nation.

Hasina had held a bilateral meeting with her Pakistan counterpart on the sidelines of SAARC Summit in Kathmandu.

Nawaz Sharif had lauded Bangladesh's progress in combating militancy. The prime ministers informed each other of the socio-economic development each country made.

Regarding that meeting, a journalist asked whether Dhaka would re-evaluate ties with Islamabad over no compensations and apologies for their actions in 1971, for not repatriating Pakistani nationals who are stuck in the country and controversial remarks of a Pakistan minister on Bangladesh's war crimes trials.

Hasina said, "We defeated them in 1971. They are a defeated force.

"Bangladesh is now making economic progress. Now, they ask us how we made such headway."

Hasina said cutting diplomatic ties or straining them was not desirable.

"There could be issues but talks can also be held simultaneously to address them," she said.

She recalled that Pakistan had recognised Bangladesh as an independent country at the OIC summit after 1971 which The nation's founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had attended.

"Through that Pakistan had admitted their defeat. I always believe that we are a victorious nation. I also behaved in that way at the SAARC Summit," the prime minister said.

Also, she added, there was no chance of holding talks at the summit on such bilateral issues according to the SAARC charter.

Hasina at the media call at Ganabhaban first briefed on the different aspects of the SAARC Summit and then on her visit to Malaysia. Later she took questions from journalists.

                      - The Pakistani ISI have apparently been involved in attempts to use proxies to kill Hasina or overthrow her government, this sort of statement will infuriate the ISI terrorist organization even more.

The truth is however Bengalis did in fact defeat the traitor Pakistan army in 1971, a defeat which the traitor Pakistan army has never got over, and never will do either.
