Frankly, I do not know who raped them or even whether they were raped or not. What I *do* know that two poor girls were killed and found near a stream by their brother. There have been conflicting stories and claims. According to forensic report, one of the girls was found to be virgin. OTOH the separatist leaders claimed that the girls were raped and killed by members of paramilitary forces (not Army, Army is not posted in urban areas) . There were no actual witnesses to the crime. Why did the separatists make these claims ? Probably to get some political mileage out of the unfortunate and extremely condemnable crime. Later even four Kashmiri cops ( three of them were Kashmiri Muslims) were suspended.

But I do know that the Jammu and Kashmir government headed by Omar Abdullah acted foolishly and is incompetent. The local J&K police should have immediately conducted a fair investigation of the crime, rather than fudging the issue. Now it has become a political issue, which some politicians are cynically exploiting to realize their political objectives.

Indians are killing Kashmiris, you can't deny that.

How do you define "Indians" and "Kashmiris" ?
