Manana I read this article recently as well. I am not too sure that Taliban would make such statements like leaving politics, but if they are it is welcome. We will wait and see.

Mr talal, I am from Waziristan....I seen with my own eyes in Shumali Waziristan, Napak fauge patrolling with Chechens, Arabs and TTP under Gul badahar? What is a 'good' Talib Master wrora? Are you not aware that Mullah Omar and his brigade of extremists were nothing but a proxy militia of Islamabad? Are you not aware that Col Imam, Gen Mahmud and other ISI officials were an important part of the Kandahar Shura of Taliban? Taliban was no Pashtun or Durrani/Ghilzai or Kandahari revival. The days of Taliban were a dark period of Punjabi rule over Afghanistan.

And what of the attrocities of the Taliban in Bamiyan and Mazar e Sharif?

Absolute truth. The episode of Mullah Ghani Baradar will suffice as evidence. Khagalai Karzai has offered amnesty for all those who lay down arms and accept the Kabul Loya Jirga but they need to come out of the spell of ISI and Pakistan first.
