About Karzai's support for THIS Anar Kali, perhaps he's seeking to gain favor with the powerful Indian community in the US?

And he does this by supporting a candidate who is almost certain to lose?

You know maybe .. just maybe .. he wanted to communicate the idea to the international community that Afghanistan is safe for women and minorities .. two reasons for which it has gotten so much bad press ( for right or wrong reasons). I know it is just a symbolic gesture, but symbolism has its uses in politics.
