Protester Burns Pages of Koran at Proposed Ground Zero Mosque Site

Pastor Terry Jones may have decided against burning Korans, but that didn't stop a man from burning pages of a Koran today at at a protest over the proposed Mosque near Ground Zero.

As the New York Post reported:

A hate-filled protester was escorted away from the Ground Zero mosque site this morning after tearing apart a Koran and burning some of the pages - an early sign that the rancor was ramping up as numerous protests were set to begin.
The man, who refused to identify himself, walked up the corner of Murray and Church streets with a green Koran in his hands. Amid a crowd of protestors and media, he first tore a page from the holy book and tossed it into the air.

He then ripped a couple of more pages from the book and lit them on fire

it is very offending burning the quran but it was jut one person who did it, and the police escorted the guy away. how many times a muslim being arrested for burning the flags of non-muslim countries. if building a mosque can cause such a big problem for the country then it should be moved to another location.

I think it would be a nice gesture to move it if what I have read is true and that 70% of American's don't want it there. I think it should have never been called "the ground zero mosque" by the media because it's not at ground zero but now most American's have such a wrong perception since they called it that over and over.

Most of the people were/are against the burning of quran.. jews,christians themselves are against it.. yes u can find a stupid person who for publicity does something like this.. burning a single copy of quran shouldnt amaze us caz thousands of pcs of quran were burnt inside afghansitan during the wars.. there are videos where masajids were attacked , burnt and human beings were killed inside masjids... Oh ya it was in afghanistan and Pakistan not USA.

I think the american public is still supporting all the religions but some politicians or baddwags make it a big deal..
