Marines headed for Afghanistan baptized in ocean off Camp Pendleton





A group of Marines headed for Afghanistan underwent baptism in the ocean off Camp Pendleton, an area normally used for amphibious assault training. The 29 Marines, all volunteers, are reservists assigned to the Ohio-based 3rd Battalion, 25th Regiment. The baptisms, done Sunday morning by the battalion chaplain, are part of Operation Sword of the Spirit, a program meant to prepare the battalion for duty in the Taliban stronghold of Helmand province.
The baptism service was attended by Lt. Col. Lawrence Kaifesh, the battalion commander, who called each of the 29 Marines forward for the symbolic immersion at Gold Beach.
"The spiritual and religious foundation that we're able to develop here allows us to perform our job the way we need to in a very challenging environment," Kaifesh said.
The baptisms were performed by Navy Chaplain Lt. William Hlavin and Religious Program Specialist 3rd Class Eric ****erson.
"I believe and trust that God will take me and my fellow Marines back home safely," Lance Cpl. Yeke Sumo said in a statement released by the Marine Corps.
Forty-six Marines and two Navy corpsmen from the battalion were killed in Iraq -- 14 on a single-day, one of the largest one-day losses of any Marine battalion.

Zarawar, have you read Blackwater? The book written by Jeremy Scahill. It is a good book that reveals the Christian fundamentalist agenda and the ruling elite of America.

You should check out Abid ullah Jan's Afghanistan: Genesis to Final Crusade. A great book revealing the same crusader agenda of the Americans.

Did the Roman Popes follow any religion when they ordered Europeans to go and massacre Muslims and acquire wealth to enrich the ROman Catholic church?

I don't think this is a crusade as such.

This is about the New World Order and the elites trying to control society. Ofcourse it would be easier for them to control us if we convert to christianity. Thats where the intrests of elites and christian fundementalists and evangelical nutcases meet. Elites don't follow any religion, they are the soldiers of Dajjal and the slaves of power. Their lust for power and domination is the real cause behind wars. They need wars to keep the military industrial complex going.

That is another proof of the elites infiltrating religious instituions. Religion like any other ideology and world view can be exploited for power and money and the pope did that. Christianity itself doesn't preach massacre of the innocents and stealing wealth. Infact christians are even more passive than muslims to the point where they are silent even when oppression occurs because they have no concept of Jihad.

You must admit that this is not a fight between Islam and christianity but between Islam (Haqq) and Dajjal (batil). I don't think the elites follow any religion. They only favour one religion over the other becuase it suits their agenda and they choose a religion which makes their task easier. By converting Afghanistan to christianity it would be easier for them to control our society because christians are very passive and they say "their kindgom is in heaven not earth".

Christian fundementalists and others are only pawns in the bigger game. They have brainwashed them and made them think they are fighting for "jesus". Same way many believe they are fighting in Afghanistan for "democracy" and "women's rights".

The reason why I asked you is because I wanted to point out that even Popes used religion as a pre-text during the first Crusades.

And you are saying this is not a war between Islam and Christianity but between Haqq and Baatil.

Not all of christianity is batil, specialy non trinitarian one and the original messae of Issa (as).

If any aspect of Christianity is not baatil, where is it based on? The bible is corrupted. And their religion is entirely corrupted. Ancient sects of monotheist Christians no longer exist. It is a known fact.
