Israeli warplanes said to hit Assad-controlled building

    July 20, 2016, 1:35 pm

Israeli warplanes on Wednesday reportedly strike a building controlled by the Syrian government near the city of Quneitra on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.
According to Arabic media reports, the planes bomb a target in the city of Medinat al-Ba’ath, near the demilitarized zone in Syria.
It isn’t immediately clear what purpose the building served, or whether it is occupied at the time of the strike. There are no immediate word on casualties.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the planes targeted Hezbollah operatives in the area.

    Facts to note.

To date, the Israeli air force remains the only one in the world that does airstrikes on the Assad regime forces, Iranian IRGC troops, and Hezbollah.

Saud Arabia-Turkey are supporting the Syrian opposition with weapons and logistics. However, both have not used their air forces (they have the same F16s that Israel has) in Syria.

Israeli Warplanes Hit Syrian Target After Mortar Fire - ABC News

Israeli Warplanes Hit Syrian Target After Mortar Fire

      • By The Associated Press

      JERUSALEM — Jul 25, 2016, 2:11 PM ET

The Israeli military says its warplanes have hit a position in Syria from where mortars were fired into the Israeli-held Golan Heights.
The army said Monday that the mortars were likely errant fire from the fighting in neighboring Syria.
No injuries were reported from the mortars, which hit an open area near Israel's frontier fence. Israel's army said the Syrian government was responsible and it would "continue to act" to preserve Israel's sovereignty.
Israel has taken pains to stay out of the ongoing Syrian war, but has carried out similar reprisals on Syrian positions when errant fire has previously landed in Israeli-controlled territory.
Israel is also believed to have carried out airstrikes on arms shipments believed to be headed toward the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, a close ally of Syria.
