A car bomb explosion hit a convoy of Afghan and US-led forces in the north of the war-torn country, killing at least seven Afghan policemen.
The attack occurred in Kunduz province, Imamsaheb district governor Mohammad Ayoub said on Thursday.
"Seven policemen were killed in the attack and several others, including two US soldiers, were injured," he told AFP.
In a separate incident earlier on Thursday, US airstrikes left dozens of Afghan civilians dead and injured in Nangarhar province.
Afghanistan has been the scene of daily attacks and many civilians and Afghan security forces along with international troops were killed since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001.
