At Least 7 Israeli Airstrikes Against Hezbollah Reported in Syria

    By Abra Forman December 27, 2015 , 10:30 am

Syrian media outlets reported on Saturday night that Israeli warplanes had sent strikes against at least seven Hezbollah targets in the Qalamoun area of Syria. Hezbollah sources denied that there had been any explosions at its bases.
The IDF did not comment on the airstrikes, but earlier in the evening it had released a statement announcing that explosions in the Upper Galilee would be heard in the following few hours. The statement read, “The explosions are routine, were planned ahead of time and are not connected to a security incident.”
The strikes came less than a week after high-ranking Hezbollah official Samir Kuntar was killed in an airstrike in Syria. Israel is assumed to be behind the incident, although the IDF has neither confirmed nor denied responsibility. Kuntar’s death was followed within a few hours by rocket strikes against the northern Israeli city of Nahariya.
Kuntar, who was imprisoned in an Israeli jail until 2008, was responsible for killing an Israeli family in 1979 as part of a PLO operation. Israel has warned Hezbollah not to retaliate following the terror mastermind’s killing.
On Saturday, the US and coalition allies said in a statement that it had sent 17 air strikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria on Christmas Day.
"The past is not my concern. The future is no longer my concern either. One minute. One minute of everything at once. And anything before is nothing. Everything after nothing. Nothing in comparison to that one minute."
