• Saudis new 34 "Muslim" nation military alliance

The clowns that run Saudi Arabia have decided to literally create a 34 "Muslim" nation military alliance but

    1. Didn't tell any of these countries, some of whom just found out from media reports.

    2. Have included countries which are not Muslim i.e. not majority Muslim but are majority Christian or animist e.g some of the African countries.

Anyway this "alliance" is a joke and a sign of Saudi fear and desperation. They are scared of Iran and its increasing power in the region and know that they (the Saudis) cannot fight so need other countries to back them.

In other words, the Saudis are cowards who need back up from lots of people to feel safe.

Below a Bangladeshi academic writes why Bangladesh should not send soldiers to die for the Saudi regime. He is the author of this book:

Should Bangladesh provide mercenaries to the Saudi coalition?

Saudi Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announces the coalition.

    Taj Hashmi

What the Saudi Defence Minister Mohammad bin Salman al-Saud declared on last Tuesday (December 15) about the formation of a so-called coalition of 34 Muslim nations to fight the ISIS and Islamist terror was dramatic, ridiculous, and ominous. It signalled the beginning of a long-drawn war between super powers, and between Muslim nations on sectarian and other more important geopolitical issues.

Nothing could be more ridiculous than assuming that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and some other Muslim nations have suddenly decided to crush the ISIS for the sake of global and regional peace. It's unbelievable that countries like Turkey, who buy cheap oil from the ISIS and treat its injured fighters in their hospitals, can just abandon their protégés for some unknown reasons.

Then again, as there are multiple variables about the nature and outcome of the so-called coalition, made in absolute haste, so are there divergent opinions about how this coalition will work, or if it will work at all. Analysts aren't sure if the coalition will ever involve military forces anywhere. There is scepticism about the real motives of Saudi Arabia. Some analysts believe the coalition reflects Saudi Arabia's desire to prove that the kingdom and its state ideology (Wahhabism) have nothing to do with the ISIS.

Others argue that Saudi Arabia wants to contain the growing Iranian influence in the region, especially in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon; and that the coalition reflects Saudi apprehension that the eventual lifting of nuclear-related sanctions against Iran will further strengthen its Shiite adversary. Some analysts believe there are no military implications of the coalition. One of them insists: “At the end of the day this is a political message, not an operational strategic one. It seems very ad hoc.” He believes the coalition is all about containing Iranian influence in the region.

Monish Gulati is quite optimistic about the outcome of the coalition: “The coalition could serve to heal the divide amongst the Sunni Arab countries; the coming together of Turkey and Egypt could bring some positive influence to bear in countries like Palestine where cultural and sectarian rifts have influenced developments negatively. The coalition could even, to the relief of the West, address the refugee issue.” Last but not least, some analysts believe the coalition is aimed at assuaging the world that Muslim nations aren't indifferent to Islamist terror attacks, and are determined to address the problem.

One, however, doesn't believe that the unilateral declaration by the Saudi defence minister has anything to do with fighting the ISIS and its ilk. One doesn't believe the coalition will bring the Sunni Muslims together, and will positively impact Palestine, and will address the refugee problem. It seems like the coalition is all about overthrowing the Assad regime in Syria, and eventually containing the Russian and Iranian influence in the region. No wonder, unlike conventional military alliances, which take months and years to germinate, evolve and mature, one single declaration by a Saudi prince ushered in a mega military alliance of 34 nations. Surprisingly, some of the “coalition” members – including Pakistan and Bangladesh – only learnt about their inclusion in the alliance through media reports.

There's nothing inclusive or Islamic/Muslim about the coalition. Had defeating the ISIS been a motive, Syria and Iraq – the worst victims of ISIS terror – would have been in the coalition. The exclusion of Iran makes no sense either. While Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been virtually at war with anti-ISIS forces in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, one wonders as to how these countries are members of a coalition, purportedly created to crush the ISIS and other Sunni terror outfits across the region! As the Saudi minister asserted, the coalition would be led by Saudi Arabia, which would also host a “joint operations centre” to coordinate efforts. Most importantly, military operations are very much in the agenda of the coalition.

In this backdrop, it's simply unbelievable that Bangladesh has decided to support the coalition, and might send mercenaries to tilt at windmills. What doesn't seem to have dawned on policymakers in the country is that sending mercenaries to kill innocent civilians in the “neo-war on terror” is altogether a different ball game from sending troops for UN peacekeeping missions. Since Bangladesh came into being by fighting a just war against the perpetrators of an unjust one in 1971, joining an unjust war – a proxy war of super powers and their clients – is reprehensible, least dignified and desirable.

One is afraid, what Bangladesh has earned over the years by taking part in UN peacekeeping missions, would be thrown away by sending mercenaries to fight proxy wars in the Middle East. Since proxy wars lack transparency and legitimacy, no peace loving country can take part in such wars. Since the Saudi-led coalition isn't aimed at fighting the ISIS and other Sunni extremists but to contain Iran, Russia and other common enemies of Washington, Riyadh, and Ankara, it's reprehensible that countries like Bangladesh should send mercenaries just to earn some foreign currency. Last but not least, as per the Constitution, Bangladesh can't engage in any warfare on behalf of some other country/entity in a foreign land (unless sanctioned by the UN).

Bangladesh has already sent thousands of maids to work for their Arab masters – in the most deplorable conditions – to augment its foreign currency reserve. It shouldn't even think of sending mercenaries to fight someone else's unjust wars. Self-respect, dignity, and commitment to peace and justice are more important than foreign currency. Nobody respects a nation of coolies, domestic servants and mercenaries.

Saudi lifts ban on Umrah visa for Bangladesh

      UNB

The government of Saudi Arabia has withdrawn its ban on issuing visas to Bangladeshi nationals for performing Umrah.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs received a letter on Monday from Saudi Embassy in Dhaka which says ‘Umrah visa has been allocated to Bangladeshi nationals through Saudi Umrah agencies and companies applying for that’.

Anwar Hossain, public relations officer of the Religious Affairs Ministry, said as Bangladesh has taken action against 230 Hajj agencies for their involvement in human trafficking in the name of Umrah Hajj, the remaining 70 agencies can resume applying for Umrah visas for visitors.

Saudi Arabia imposed the ban on March 22 this year as they said many Bangladeshis staying in Saudi Arabia illegally after receiving Umrah visas.

      - See more at: http://www.dhakatribune.com/banglade....m8cVlFGb.dpuf

      1. For 9 months Muslims from the 160 million Muslim nation of Bangladesh were denied visas to go to Umrah, to perform a religious ritual.

      2. A lot of people on this forum ridicule me as a propagandist simply because they do not know much about the world and simply follow mainstream western media narrative and spin.

I have frequently said that Saudi Arabia has a deep hatred for Bangladesh and Bengalis, I know what I am talking about.

I also know about things which aren't published in any media, e.g. things my cousin who is in Saudi told me about.

      3. The lifting of the visa ban may be a carrot to Bangladesh for its support for this ridiculous "coalition".

Saudi Arabia's deep hatred for Bangladesh

Saudi Arabia's deep hatred for Bangladesh is essentially derived for its fondness for Pakistan and for Jamaat e Islami, both of which are separate things and not the same.

Faisal of Saudi Arabia was very fond of the founder of Jamaat e Islami and this continued for years. So after Bangladesh was created the Jamaat exploiting their close links to the Saudi regime fed them lies e.g. Bangladesh was run by Hindus, under Hindu occupation etc.

In addition there is the racial disdain for darker skinned peoples that Saudis and other Arabs have as Bangladeshis are darker than both Arabs and their fellow west Asian, Pakistanis.

There are sometimes Saudi police operations where they beat and harass Bangladeshi workers, this happens sometimes after any meeting between a Bangladeshi foreign minister and someone from the Saudi regime. Jamaat e Islami has a long-term goal of isolating Bangladesh from the rest of the Muslim world and vilifying it if an Awami League government comes in to power.

The following picture is from the Saudi Gazette:

      - The third biggest Muslim country in the world, Bangladesh, is noticeable by its absence.

MADINAH — As many as 542,698 Umrah pilgrims have so far arrived in the Kingdom since the season started on Nov. 13, local daily Al-Madina reported on Monday quoting official statistics of the Haj Ministry.

According to the statistics, the Saudi diplomatic missions abroad have so far issued 990,003 Umrah visas but the number of arrivals is still less by about 12 percent compared to the same period last year.

The statistics said, 109,597 pilgrims have come from Egypt representing 24.21 percent of the total number of pilgrims.

Pakistan, with 77,476 pilgrims representing 17.11 percent, occupied second place while Indonesia with 44,910, representing 9.92 percent, came third.

This hatred for Bangladesh by the Saudi regime is one of the greatest successes of Pakistani foreign policy and of the Jamaat e Islami.

A vicious hatred by the Saudis for a poor and territorially small country which has never done anything wrong to Saudis, even sent 8,000 Bangladeshi volunteers for the Palestinian cause in the 1980s.

However there is a hadeeth (alleged statement of holy prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم which has warned us all about the Saudis and their Wahabi ideology).

Karachi was essentially right about boycotting the Saudi regime and state.

After I found out about the Saudi umrah ban on Bangladeshis (now revoked), I deleted every Saudi on my facebook (had several) and also decided I would never buy anything Saudi including their airline or other products.

I also prayed for the end of the Saudi regime after Fajr (the first prayer of the day at dawn time).

However even usually loyal lapdog, Pakistan has told the Saudis to get lost!

Saudi-led coalition: Pakistan won’t support moves against Syria or Iran, say officials

        By Kamran Yousaf

        Published: December 24, 2015

Pakistan may have joined the Saudi Arabia-led 34-nation coalition against terrorism, but it will not support any move that destabilises Syria or strains Islamabad’s relationship with Tehran, senior Foreign Office officials said on Wednesday.

According to them, the assurance came from the federal government during an in-camera session of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry attended the meeting presided over by committee chairperson Senator Nuzhat Sadiq.

The meeting discussed the decision of the government to join the Saudi-led coalition and its possible implications for Pakistan.

According to insiders, some committee members voiced concerns over the government’s decision of joining the Saudi alliance without taking parliament into confidence. Their apprehensions stemmed from fears that the newly-formed alliance might be used against Syria and Iran.

However, FO officials, according to sources, dismissed such concerns and clarified that Pakistan’s participation in the Saudi coalition is only meant for efforts against terrorism.

The official pointed out that Pakistan’s position on Syria remained clear that it was strictly opposed to foreign intervention for ousting the government of President Basharul Assad.

“We will continue to seek the political solution of the Syrian crisis,” the official added, allaying fears of some of the committee members.

The Saudi-led alliance is seen as an attempt by Riyadh to reassert itself at a time when realignments are taking place in the wake of the world powers’ nuclear deal with Iran.

The committee members also warned the government that Saudi Arabia formed the alliance to counter Iran, something that carries huge implications.

However, FO officials insisted that Pakistan’s relations with Iran will not be affected by its decision to join Saudi coalition. “This coalition is not against any specific country,” explained the FO official.

        Pak-India FS meeting

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters here, Sartaj Aziz said Islamabad has proposed the foreign secretary-level talks between Pakistan and India to take place in mid-January.

The talks between the top diplomats are part of the understanding reached between the two countries during the recent visit of India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Pakistan during which the two sides revived the composite dialogue.

“We are now waiting for the Indian response to our proposal,” the adviser added.

The meeting, expected to take place in Islamabad, will draw a road map for a series of meetings between the officials of the two countries to discuss issues covered under the comprehensive bilateral dialogue.

        lol!

        Hilarious.

The Saudis have been sucking and licking the Pakistanis hard for years and giving them freebies, billions of dollars, bullying Bangladesh for their sake, flattering them.

You name it the shameless Saudis have done it.

        What do they get?

Pakistan, yes even beggar nation Pakistan, has told the Saudis to get lost and that they are not interested in their anti-Iran, anti-Assad B.S.

This so-called "Islamic Military Alliance" (which doesn't even have the largest Muslim country on earth, Indonesia, or the largest country in the Arab world, Algeria) has been destroyed in just a week or so since its announcement.

Ibn Salman a.k.a "Crusty the Clown" has made a fool out of himself as usual.

        1. Creates a "coalition", without even telling the "member" states.

        2. "Member" states tell the world media they had no idea about it e.g. Pakistan, Malaysia.

        3. Some of them say they have no interest in it.

        4. Pakistan - the main target of the Saudis attempt to get military support - tells the shameless Saudis that they have no interest in the real goal of this "coalition" which is a giant anti-Shia military alliance.

        LOLZ!
