A Saudi court orders a Sri Lankan domestic worker stoned to death

    Sat, 2015-11-21 09:18 — editor

    Colombo, 21 November, (Asiantribune.com):

A Sri Lankan female domestic worker has been ordered by a Saudi Court to be stoned to death for committing adultery.

The Sri Lankan Housemaid, reported to be a married woman from Maradana has had an affair with a Sri Lankn man employed in Saudi Arabia, and made a confession before the court of having affair with him, foreign media reports say.

Sri Lankan Foreign Employment Bureau stated that the Saudi Court has ordered that the man, a bachelor to be given 100 lashes as punishment.

Foreign employment minister Thalatha Athukorale has requested Saudi government for leniency on behalf of the sentenced woman.

A Ministry official said that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Saudi Arabia has contacted the Saudi Authorities to ascertain whether there would be a possibility of reconsidering the verdict.

He also said that the ministry would take every action, to save the housemaid.

If anybody wants to put the Sri Lankan flag on their facebook to protest against this non-Quranic punishment (not mentioned anywhere in the Quran), then here is the way to do it.

This woman was probably treated like a slave as a housemaid in a foreign and alien land far away from her family and loved ones. She made a mistake and had an affair with a married woman, but even according to the traditional pseudo-Islam prevalent in the Muslim world there should have been 4 witnesses to see the act of penetration i.e. the male organ enter the female, which of course would be impossible in a society like Saudi. Not only would there have to be 4 witnesses but they have to be of impeccable character and religious piety and many things could disqualify them from being considered reliable witnesses.

The only other way according to the traditional psuedo-Islam of the zanadiqa (group who infiltrated Islam and invalidated the message of true Islam through false hadeeths [alleged statements of holy prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم]) is through a self-confession.

Will a lowly paid, badly-treated Sri Lankan woman (de facto slave) sign her life away by confessing to adultery?

Most certainly not unless she was co-oerced and tortured by the racist Saudi police.

This event will shock the world and may lead to a Sri Lankan ban on female workers to Saudi Arabia.

A girl in Germany sees an exhibition of Saudi massacres of civilians in Yemen. The planned execution of this Sri Lankan lady by the Saudis may stun the world.

Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen non-stop for 8 months including killing many innocent civilians.

Possible consequences of this Saudi state killing of this woman.

    - Sri Lanka may ban all female workers and perhaps all workers to Saudi, leading to a "problem" for the Saudis who are hungry for female slaves from Asian and African countries they can exploit, in the form of a housemaid "shortage".

Thailand has hostile relations with the Saudis and would not step in to the "gap".

    - The Philippines there have been restrictions on the export of workers to Saudi.

    - India, there has been talk of cutting this down.

    - Bangladesh, new workers from the country are banned due to Pakistani-Jamaati lobbying against Bangladesh. However the Saudis did try to blackmail Bangladesh in to sending 0.2 million female maids (slaves) or otherwise the labour ban wouldn't be ended.

Asian countries need to unite, civil rights organizations in India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia and elsewhere need to support Sri Lanka in the form of protests in their capitals and a social media campaign against this killing.

Just as the world is uniting against ISIS, the world needs to unite to protect this poor Sri Lankan immigrant maid from being killed by the Saudis.

Welcome to great Salafi Paradise. The most unjust place in the world.

Was her husband back in Sri Lanka? She was probably lonely for so many years, because Saudis took her passport away.

These Saudi Haramis need to pay an ultimate price for their crimes.

        Good news! Alhamdulilah!

Saudi court reduces Sri Lankan woman's stoning sentence

Sri Lankan’s death sentence for adultery reduced to three years in jail on appeal

Sri Lanka’s acting foreign minister, Harsha de Silva, said he welcomed the outcome of the appeal.

        Wednesday 23 December 2015 16.05

Saudi authorities have reduced a Sri Lankan woman’s sentence for adultery from death by stoning to a three-year jail term after an appeal, Colombo’s foreign ministry has said.

The woman, 45, who is married and had worked as a domestic helper in Riyadh since 2013, was convicted in August of adultery with a fellow Sri Lankan migrant worker. The man was given a lesser punishment of 100 lashes because he was not married.

Sri Lanka’s acting foreign minister, Harsha de Silva, said the appeal against the death sentence was taken up by the Saudi court on Tuesday and he welcomed the outcome.

“The government of Sri Lanka is very happy to announce that the appeal for clemency on the sentence was successful and the Sri Lankan national will have to serve a reduced term in prison,” De Silva told reporters in Colombo.

Foreign employment minister, Thalatha Atukorale, said the woman’s sentence had been reduced to three years.

There was no immediate comment from the Saudi side. The woman’s name has not been disclosed by Saudi or Sri Lankan authorities.

The death penalty sparked uproar in Sri Lanka, from which hundreds of thousands of men and women migrate to wealthy Gulf Arab states every year to take up jobs as maids or drivers. Their remittances are an important contributor to the south Asian nation’s GDP.

Saudi Arabia has been criticised by western human rights groups for the number of crimes that carry the death penalty there, including adultery, drug smuggling and witchcraft.

In 2013, the Saudis beheaded a young Sri Lankan housemaid for killing an infant left in her care, rejecting repeated appeals by Sri Lanka against her death sentence. Colombo recalled its ambassador from Riyadh in protest.

Saudi Arabia, currently chair of the UN Human Rights Council, has executed more than 150 people this year, mostly by public beheading, the largest number of executions in 20 years, Amnesty International said last month.

        Great news!

        1. This is a day full of sadness for the likes of Wahabi fanatic Shamlawar Khurasani, Luffy (History of Pashtuns), Insight and others who no doubt would have been delighted to hear this woman was executed.

        2. There is no Quranic basis for this Judaic punishment i.e. stoning of the adulterer.

        3. In other articles it is stated that the Sri Lankan government raised the fact that under traditional scholastic "Islam" there should have been 4 witnesses to see the actual penetration of the male organ, which there weren't in this case.

Failing that there has to be a self-confession but the Sri Lankan government argued that the woman's confession was under coercion.

This is a black day for Shamlawar Khurasani, Luffy (History of Pashtuns) and Insight - supporters of Wahabis, Deobandis and Taliban - and they will no doubt be furious at the thought of this woman having her life saved.
