  • Afghan refugees in Iran being sent to fight and die for Assad in Syria

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...ashar-al-assad

When the war in Syria is over and Iran inevitably disbands this Fatemioun brigade and sends the militiamen back to Afghanistan what will the consequences be for Kabul?

Most of these militiamen are Hazaras and even though you can find some people complaining to media about Iran using and mistreating them, the fact is that they still always go to Iran as refugees or illegally and many thousdands of them have willingly joined Iranian sponsored paramilitary to fight in Syria. Whether it is for religious belief or for money is irrelevant they have aligned themselves with Iran either way and will naturally attach some loyalty to Iran after fighting for them and surviving the war.

The risk is that they will return to Afghanistan as people with war experience, the sectarian mentality of the Arab world and deep connection to Iranian revolutionary guards and Iranian ayatollahs.

They are getting hired to fight in Syria. Just as Afghan refugees were getting paid to fight in Kashmir during the 90s.
