Yemen is not a major oil producing country, so that wealth is not really there as it may seem.
and don't be fooled by the glossy looking photos. While there are beautiful sites in Yemen, the photos are specifically cherry picked s, with photographic effects to enhance it.
Yemen has a lot of beauty but it's not this lap of luxury these photos may convey, It's much simpler and more rugged. Like Afghanistan.
I've been both to Yemen and Afghanistan, and it's pretty similar in terrain and geography.....and even geology, except, the type of rocks differ and have different mineral composition.
