50% of Saudi female retail workers resign

    LATEST STORIES IN SAUDI ARABIA

ABHA: Saudi women working at clothing stores here have called on the Labor Ministry to crack down on owners because they apparently work long hours, are paid low salaries, have no access to childcare facilities, not given days off, and not provided free transport.

In addition, they claim that the public in general have no trust in them as salespeople, and often abuse them verbally. They also called on the government to force shops to close at 9 p.m. so that they can have time with their families and to socialize.

Fatima Al-Hayyan, a business expert, claimed that more than 50 percent of women working in sales have resigned, citing lack of job security and heavy workload.

Women here said that the average of SR4,500 they earn a month is not enough to meet their needs, especially since they have to work nine hours a day. One woman, Abrar Al-Ghamdi, said she spends SR1,200 of her SR4,500 salary a month on transport.

Alia Al-Assiri, a salesperson, said that the shop where she works does not provide a chair for her to sit down. “The ministry has ordered shops to have chairs for workers but this one has not complied with these directives,” she said.

Al-Assiri said she has to work nine hours a day because the owner forces her to make up the time she takes for prayers. Another woman, Sarah Mohammed, said she works nine hours at the weekends and eight and a half hours during the week, which affects her family life.

Fatima Al-Mu’badi said that customers are sometimes condescending and rude even though she is professional at all times. She said Saudi women must take courses to advance their careers, which would help break the stereotype that they are not suited for sales positions.

Ghala Al-Bishri called on customers not to look down on salespeople because they spend lots of time and effort promoting their products.

Dalal Al-Qarni, assistant director general of the women’s department at the ministry in the Eastern Province, said officials have outlined the rights and obligations of owners and workers, including penalties for those failing to comply.

Al-Qarni said there has also been widespread campaigns to inform everyone about the third phase of the feminization program and the timeframe for implementation. There has also been consultation with workers and business owners to resolve disputes and challenges, she said.
Ishraq Moawad, director of the inspection department at the ministry in Jeddah, said that the government is looking at introducing additional legislation to protect retail workers, which would include wage scales.
In addition, plans are being formulated to have community outreach programs that would tackle the stereotypes in the market about Saudi workers, said Moawad.

Saudis and Wahabis and Shamlawar Khurasani style Arab-wannabe Wahabis need to smell the coffee and live in the real world.

    1. The oil is running out and the population is expanding.

    2. Saudi Arabia (or should it be renamed "Sudairi" Arabia, as Salman has made the Sudairi wing of the family the permanent rulers of the country) cannot indefinitely keep on subsidizing the population through oil revenue.

Salman, bin Nayef the no.2 and ibn Salman the no.3 all Sudairis.

    3. Economies in Asia and Africa which had traditionally supplied the Saudis with mass cheap labour are developing and there is less need for them to travel to a place like Saudi Arabia.

    - Also in this day and age of social media any incident of Saudi abusing foreigners can be transmitted around the world and go viral.

The new emerging Saudi elite travel, study and sometimes live in the west and do not want to be embarassed socially over scandals of Saudi barbarians abusing foreigners.

Therefore they cannot keep on treating foreigners as animals.

The Saudis cannot also keep on relying on Asian (and African to a lesser degree) countries providing them with mass cheap labour in the form of house slaves or "maids).

    - Indonesia has said no, the Philippines has said no, Pakistan is apparently not interested, the east Africans proved to be more aggressive and even violent, so it is only Bangladesh which agreed - a country the Saudi regime hates.

However regardless of what the Bangladeshi regime - which has little self-respect - says the writing is on the wall the days of mass cheap foreign female domestic labour are over for the Saudis and Saudi men and women will have to start looking after themselves.

As for the verbal abuse the Saudi female retail workers complained about in the article above this is just a diluted form of the physical abuse that foreign workers receive in Saudi Arabia.

These women are lucky that they are Saudi otherwise they could be hit, beaten, anything and not do anything as it would be a Saudi v "Ajnabee" (foreigner), and foreigners (unless they are western) have no real rights in Saudi Arabia.

Shamlawar Khurasani style Arab-wannabes need to grow up and smell the coffee and stop trying to fix their personality disorder and psychological problems by resorting to an ideology which promotes belief in a mythical "la-la-land" whereby Arabs are perfect and pure and all non-Arab Muslims, especially darker skinned ones are inferior to them.

Your the one who open threads about the history of shia committing crimes against sunnis and make a point that only shia pashtuns celebrate nowraz after declaring nowraz a kafir day.

You learn very well from the saudi family who are protected by greedy western corps about creating fitna.

Shamlawar Khurasani, I'm not remotely interested in what you have to say as you are a Wahabi extremist and Takfeeri.

You have probably made Takfeer (declaring Muslims as disbelievers) a few times already in the posts above, saying *so and so* is "Kafir" and *he* is "Kafir" and *she* is Kafir.

                Kafir this, Kafir that.

However you have an identity crisis as you have evolved from a secular Pashtun nationalist to Arab-wannabe Wahabi fanatic.

Even according to some Wahabis being on this forum would be "haram" (forbidden) as your participation on here is legitimizing a forum based on nationalism, which is against Islam (as per their narrative). You by posting here are increasing activity and traffic and thus strengthening a non-Islamic nationalist forum.

I know how Wahabis think and operate.

So I just don't understand what you are doing on this forum.

Anyway whilst you support your heroes the Taliban you live in secular capitalist NATO-protected Holland.

Anyway idiot, you don't live in the real world but live in a make-belief Wahabi world where Arabs are an elite race and non-Arabs are lower.

Grow up and smell the coffee, your beloved Saudi Arabia has lots of problems and is partly a dysfunctional society.

Your Wahabism/Salafism in the next decade or two will burn out as Muslims grow increasingly conscious of the dangers it causes and the violent intolerant Takfeeri mentality it produces e.g. ISIS, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, Al-Qaeda, Shamlawar Khurasani etc.

I would appreciate it if you did not post on my threads as I do not post on your threads, nor do I read them bar the titles.

                Ciao.

I don't recall denying it. I did. They are not selective when it comes to their ignorance. You are.
100s of afghan's get killed on daily basis and not once did you speak against those responsible or of their innocence. But heaven forbid should a bird poop over the head of an erab..

And this other idiot needs to be told to get back to his cave where he doesn't have to worry about coming across someone with whom he may not be in agreement with. Spineless coward, hiding from half of the forum and conversatinh with himself like an idiot.

These morons are getting out of control and giving muslims a bad name, no wonder so many people in the west think that Islam is tight with too many restrictions.

I also remember how KSA wanted to make a separate city entirely for women workers so they don't have to be around men. Pathetic.

You mean the Saudis haven't outsourced their retail sector yet?
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
