Red Cross: Ceasefire needed in Yemen immediately
The Red Cross calls for an immediate 24-hour ceasefire in Yemen, saying many more people recently wounded in fighting will die if not tended to soon.

Protest outside the Saudi embassy in London.

Arabs fighting Arabs, with some Iranian involvement too.

May Allah end this horrible conflict in Yemen soon and ruin the American plan to create a Syria-style war in Yemen.

What disgusts me is that Iran is celebrating their nuclear deal while Muslims in Yemen and the middle east in general are dying. I know iranians are not the best muslims, especially since atheism is rampant among the youth, but i wish the country of Iran could reach out to Saudis for a better method instead of ignoring it all together. I wish the war amongst muslims would stop.

Kudos to you Bengal_Tiger for bringing this topic to light, many muslims are ignorant of it or just down right ignore it and don't look into the matter thoroughly like you are.

You're totally right Muslims should not be killing Muslims.

            1. The Iranians out on the streets celebrating weren't doing it to celebrate the death of Yemenis but because of the "good news" (let's see if there is actually a deal) about their country.

It's like in 2014 if Algerians had gone on the streets to celebrate a world cup victory nobody would accuse them of doing it to celebrate the death of Syrians (who were being killed back then last year). They're totally different things with no relationship.

            2. The point those contrasting images was trying to make is this. I've read comments from chest-thumping Saudi nationalists on another forum about their military and its aerial bombing.

            OK.....

But you're bombing the poorest Arab country and they're your fellow Arabs.

Meanwhile in Iran, the country you claim to hate everything is peaceful and normal.

So how can Saudis be celebrating the actions of their airforce whilst they ,Arabs, are killing fellow Arabs (Yemenis)...

...and their "arch-rivals" on the other hand, Iran, are enjoying peace and a possible major breakthrough in removing sanctions?

Bacha Khan was right and a man ahead of his times.

He said the following before the 1st and 2nd gulf war, 9/11, Al-Qaeda, Syria, ISIS, Pakistan chaos, wars in Yugoslavia, Ukraine, Somalia, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, Yemen and so many other conflicts.

As Muslims we need to make persistent and strong du'a that peace comes to the Muslim world and of course to all peoples.

Pakistan reported to be in, though not officially declared. "Angels" is a phrase in Pakistani politics referring to the Pakistan army/generals.

Army allegedly pressurizing parliament to approve official Pakistani involvement in Saudi.

If Pakistan does go in then it's Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan versus Houthis, Yemeni army (majority are with Saleh who is allied to the Houthis) and Iran.

Saudi serviceman killed in gunfire exchange with "terrorists" E. Kingdom - MoI

                  06/04/2015

                  تصغير الخطتكبير الخط

RIYADH, April 6 (KUNA) -- A Saudi serviceman was killed and five persons, including three security personnel, were injured during an exchange of fire with wanted "terrorists" in the Awamiya town, eastern Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, the Interior Ministry said.

Security forces were searching a hideout used by "terrorist elements in the Awamiya town where a quantity of machineguns, guns, ammunition and communication devices were found," the ministry spokesman said.
The security forces, while searching some hideouts, came under heavy gunfire from a nearby building wounding three personnel, a civilian and an expatriate, he added.
Corporal Majed bin Turki Al-Qahtani died of his wounds he sustained from attack.
The security forces retaliated at the source of fire and succeeded later in arrested the attackers, identified only as four Saudi nationals. (end) od.bs

                  Other reports say:

                  - An Asian man was killed (might be Bangladesh, Indian etc).

                  - 25 people injured.

The Saudis are playing with fire. They need to end all this bombing and nonsense soon and organize a political solution e.g. a joint Hadi-Saleh interim government.

                      Indian national killed!

                      - The security situation in Saudi Arabia needs to be brought under control.

India has millions of workers in Saudi.

So too do Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The stability of Saudi Arabia is vital, and a national security issue for these countries, well for Bangladesh and Pakistan definitely.

                        1. Saudis are powerful economically and their eqpt is most modern. Their HR is an issue. A nation of energy, initiative and guts do get lazy when suddenly enriched beyond imagination. Particularly when that nation outsources its work and national security.
                        2. The last time Nasser had sent the Egyptians to Yemen resulted in around 26,000 Egyptian casualty. For Pakistan ground forces the people, society, terrain and climate - all will be hostile.
                        3. Hope the Saudis concentrate in diplomacy and material support rather than getting the entire Ummah embroiled. Blaming Iran alone and turning this into a Shia - Sunni conflict will at the end harm the Muslim world. The Saudis must look beyond their throne or risk being dethroned eventually.

                          Update

                          - Oman trying to reconcile both sides behind the scenes.

                          - Houthis are saying they are willing to negotiate if air strikes cease.

The Saudis have already lost 3 soldiers and destroyed whole villages (to prevent them from being used by Houthis and the Saudis removed all the inhabitants way in advance anyway).

They have made their point and showed their strength with their complete uncontested control of Yemen's air and seas.

Now it's time for Arabs to stop killing Arabs.

It's time for Saudi and others to sit down like civilized people and negotiate a settlement.

I recommend a joint Hadi-Saleh interim government for the time being like Ghani-Abdullah in Afghanistan, with Saleh in the Ghani role i.e. somewhat more senior.

                            Major blow for the Iranians.

Yemeni militiamen say captured two Iranian officers in Aden

                            ADEN | BY MOHAMMED MUKHASHAF

(Reuters) - Local militiamen in the Yemeni city of Aden said they captured two Iranian military officers advising Houthi rebels during fighting on Friday evening.

Tehran has denied providing military support for Houthi fighters, whose advances have drawn air strikes by a regional coalition led by Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic's main rival for influence in the Gulf.

If confirmed, the presence of two Iranian officers, who the local militiamen said were from an elite unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, would further worsen relations between Tehran and Riyadh who are vying for dominance in the region.

A Houthi mortar shell fired into Saudi territory on Friday killed three officers and injured two others, a statement from the kingdom's Defence Ministry carried by state media said on Saturday, bringing Saudi casualties in the conflict to six.

Three sources in the southern port city's anti-Houthi militias said the Iranians, identified as a colonel and a captain, were seized in two separate districts that have been rocked by heavy gun battles.

"The initial investigation revealed that they are from the Quds Force and are working as advisors to the Houthi militia," one of the sources told Reuters.

"They have been put in a safe place and we will turn them over to (the Saudi-led coalition) Decisive Storm to deal with them."

Saudi-led air strikes, entering their third week, hit Houthi and military targets throughout the country on Saturday, pounding government buildings and a presidential palace used by the group's leaders in the Red Sea port city of Hodaida.

Ground combat between armed factions battered southern Yemen, killing around 20 Houthi fighters and two rival militiamen, residents and militia fighters said.

Bolstered by the air raids, local armed groups have been resisting the southward advance of the northern-based Shi'ite Muslim Houthis.

Residents said southern fighters ambushed a convoy of Houthis and allied forces loyal to ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh in a tribal area about 100 km (60 miles) north of the militia's base in Aden, killing 15 of the northerners.

Inside the port city, Houthi forces and local militiamen battled with rocket-propelled grenades and machineguns. Five Houthis and two local fighters died, residents said.

Locals said Houthi forces were shelling civilian areas and trying to push into the Tawahi district, one of the only areas where they have no presence and home to a presidential palace and the city's military port.

While the Houthis deny getting help from Shi'ite Iran and say their armed campaign is designed to stamp out corruption and Sunni al Qaeda militants, Saudi Arabia and its allies describe them as an Iranian-backed threat to regional security.

The United Nations says the conflict, in which the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa in northern Yemen in September, has killed 600 people, wounded 2,200 and displaced 100,000 others.

Saudi Arabia's Defence Ministry statement said more than 500 Houthis had also been killed in fighting on Yemen's border with the kingdom since the conflict began, but it did not say how it arrived at that figure.

                            1. Many on the internet including Iranians or Iran-supporters were saying there is no Iranian involvement with the Houthis.

                            This is a complete lie.

The Zaydis in general have very little to do with the regular 12er Shia,( with the exception of the Jarudiya wing within the Zaydis) theologically but receive arms, funding and political support from Iran.

Why is Iran funding, arming and training a group in Yemen, a country which it has very little to do with?

Precisely to target Saudi Arabia and nothing else.

                            2. The Houthis held a major military exercise in the north of Yemen near the Saudi border at the same time as Iran held its own military war games in Iran.

This was a message meant to scare Saudi.

                            http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/03/12/us-yemen-security-saudi-idUSKBN0M81GR20150312

                            3. Now that the Saudis through their Yemeni surrogates have captured these Iranian military personnel, the Iranians have suffered a blow.

Both sides should end the fighting in Yemen and go to the negotiating table.

Iran should stop supporting the Houthis in Yemen merely just to provoke Saudi Arabia.

6 weeks and the Saudis haven't sent their soldiers in to Sana'a nor does it seem they will.

Nor have they managed to reinstate "President" Hadi.

However they may have apparently sent covert Saudi forces in to the second city, Aden, which is Hadi's "temporary capital".

It's like when Pakistanis fight and kill Pakistanis in Waziristan.

The Pakistani army bombs Pakistani houses, buildings, villages and Pakistanis.

Then when it has bombed that part of Pakistan to ashes it claims it as a great "victory", no they didn't conquer Delhi, or even Srinigar or even Kargil but they bombed their own country.
